Title: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: oldlaptop on September 29, 2012, 05:24:49 am I have recently packaged UQM 0.7.0 for Debian (http://www.debian.org/). While these have only been tested on Debian 6 stable and Debian testing, they should build without issue on Ubuntu and other Debian derivatives. Thanks to Gekko for kindly providing hosting.

If he is no longer updating the package, maybe you would be willing to take over maintainership? It would be much better if Debian users could just download the most recent version of UQM directly from the Debian package manager.
(See http://packages.debian.org/stable/games/uqm (http://packages.debian.org/stable/games/uqm).) Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: mamangava/julio valim on August 14, 2013, 01:59:00 am Thank you very much, oldlaptop! I'm using the Ubuntu 12.04 64amd binaries, with content, 3domusic and 3dovoice, works perfectly. I agree with meep-eep, the official repositories should be updated, and you would make a good maintainer.
Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: oldlaptop on August 14, 2013, 05:22:04 am Oh dear, I forgot about the thread on this board! Updated some time ago with more binaries and an ugly index page: http://plantmonster.homeip.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/ (thanks again to Gekko for providing hosting, and sorry to anyone who couldn't find the right packages from the apache directory listing!)
Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: oldlaptop on May 11, 2014, 08:05:02 pm Gekko (who has very kindly been providing hosting for these packages for nearly two years now) recently changed the domain name of his server. The new link is here:
http://plantmonster.servebeer.com/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/ Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: mamangava/julio valim on May 13, 2014, 04:35:29 am Wow, do you have Jedi powers? I visited this topic on the saturday, tried the link and it was dead. It's like you read my mind.
In the meantime, I sent an email to the current maintainer of the uqm debian repository, Dmitry E. Oboukhov http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=unera%40debian.org (http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=unera%40debian.org) Asked him if he plans to continue updating the package. Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: oldlaptop on July 02, 2014, 03:17:55 am Because Microsoft is evil (http://web.archive.org/web/20140701161012/http://www.noip.com/blog/2014/06/30/ips-formal-statement-microsoft-takedown/), the domain name of Gekko's server has changed again. The packages can now be reached here:
http://plantmonster.ddns.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/ (http://plantmonster.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/) At the time of writing, your DNS server may not carry the new domain name yet - simply wait a while (a few days at most) and it should work. Thanks again to Gekko for generously hosting these packages, and for responding to this unexpected problem so quickly. Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: Gekko on November 07, 2015, 12:49:44 pm A bit of thread necromancy, but due to the mess that was handling the free domains I purchased plantmonster.net and hosted the files there for more stable access. The url is:
http://plantmonster.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/ (http://plantmonster.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/) My understanding is that the .deb maintainer for UQM is still AWOL and there's no news about acquiring the managership for these packages. Title: Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages Post by: oldlaptop on November 09, 2015, 06:02:15 pm My understanding is that the .deb maintainer for UQM is still AWOL and there's no news about acquiring the managership for these packages. As of now, the maintainer has failed to react to a failure to build from source (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=792920), and the package avoided removal only because of a non-maintainer upload. I'm not sure exactly what a non-DD can do about the situation, but I'm starting to seriously consider beginning the process of declaring the uqm packages orphaned. |
