Title: P6014
Post by: StarConFan85 on January 26, 2014, 12:58:49 am
I've Just been looking at the updates for P6014. I'm hopeless at programming & art, but I'd really like to help out with P6014 in some way, whether it be writing dialogue or posting ideas for the story???

We're really not doing much on 6014 until we get a programmer to help us out. Our last programmer wants to write a novel, and is working on that. Sorry  :-\

I got the impression the current p6014 crew want to work on a story encompassing an area a 2-3 times larger than the original HyperSpace map was. As life doesn't stop without a programmer, his absence seems more like an opportunity to flesh out the story without wasting his time.

There was items for the story was dependant on additional programming. There's no reason the ideas can't be downscaled, as long as I can get a programmer to devote some time to it. We made a lot of art, but until I get a programmer for 6014, I am content to work on other items. I am still working on other Star Control projects. If the community wants it bad enough, a programmer will come forward.

I would appreciate this very much. The demo was already great and I'm looking forward to the sequel.
But I'm not the community, just a tiny pixel of it. ;)

Everyone likes to be an artists. To make new ideas, back stories, voice overs, "design" the game.

But nothing gets done without down the earth programmer(s). Sad truth that no one wants to step in...

Greetings everyone, I just finished playing the P6014 v0.21, and would like to help completing the game (As I want to continue playing it).

I am a programmer but I am not exactly a C/C++ programmer, in fact I am a bit rusty of C/C++ programming.. I still like to help but don't know if you guys need a "C ready" experienced programmer, or you are OK with a guy writing C/C++ slowly (I need to catch up)....

You may ask me anything and see if I am able to help.

Just curious, what's the status of this project?  Is there a creative roadmap currently?

I'm a dev who really liked uqm, *might* have time in the future, not sure, was just curious what was going on, if there was still anyone associated with this etc.

Thanks :D

My longer answer is in the other thread, so shortly: dead.
