Title: Groombridge Log, fresh from print! Post by: Tiberian on June 09, 2014, 09:04:43 pm I finally got my hands on the printed version of Groombridge Log and even if I say so myself, it looks really professional.
Here's a writer with a sense of achievement: (http://koti.mbnet.fi/tibe9mm/Groombridge_Log/kansi%20ja%20tekij%e4.jpg) The starmap is included: (http://koti.mbnet.fi/tibe9mm/Groombridge_Log/t%e4htikartta.jpg) The back cover catches the eye: (http://koti.mbnet.fi/tibe9mm/Groombridge_Log/takakansi.jpg) And this is what the actual text looks like: (http://koti.mbnet.fi/tibe9mm/Groombridge_Log/teksti%e4.jpg) If any of you want a copy, please let me know. I'll figure out what to do when I know how many will want it. Title: Re: Groombridge Log, fresh from print! Post by: Naismith on June 11, 2014, 12:11:56 am So I found this on star-control.com late last night and then spent all night reading through the whole thing...
And wow, this is brilliant - I like a lot of the ways you expanded on things, and how it seems that the arrangement of rainbow worlds is now a much more important plot point. Anyway, if possible, I would love to have a physical copy of this - and I will greatly be looking forward to the next part! Also, would you mind if I posted about this elsewhere and linked to your post and the pdf? Title: Re: Groombridge Log, fresh from print! Post by: Tiberian on June 11, 2014, 04:39:45 pm Feel free to spread the word. The more people reading it the better.

It will ultimately all be up to Fred Ford and Paul Reiche. Title: Re: Groombridge Log, fresh from print! Post by: Asrial on July 03, 2014, 09:24:19 am I'd like a copy :)
The version you have in your hand is just a "for me alone" creation and not an official "I'm going to sell it" version? Naismith says they're looking forward to the next part.. it's not finished yet? Also, is it a copyright issue only if you make money on it? At the very least, could you just make it available for us to "buy" the printing and all you're doing is supplying the content? Thus you make no money from it. Though really.. since the PDF is available.. I'd rather buy it with an opportunity to get you a little income from it :) Title: Re: Groombridge Log, fresh from print! Post by: oldlaptop on July 06, 2014, 08:30:35 pm UQM content (this essentially includes the entire SC2 story; all dialog, voiceovers, almost anything not directly hardcoded into the game itself) is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 2.5 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/). This prohibits copying, distribution, etc of UQM content or any derived work (almost certainly including Groombridge Log) "in any manner that is primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or private monetary compensation."; whether this would exclude physical distribution at-cost would be a question for a real lawyer.
