Title: Does anyone have MIDI files for Star Control music?
Post by: Sneaky Scoots on January 10, 2015, 12:55:31 pm
Hello. My friend and I have been playing Starbound a lot - if someone doesn't know, if you have some music in MIDI format you can convert it over so you can play it in the game with musical instruments - and even actually play as a band, so as to song does not sound as a complete mess with just one instrument trying to cope with all of it.
I've been trying to convert over some .mod files into .midi files to play them in the game, because I think that Star Control music is quite nice and somewhat fits Starbound because of a similar attitude towards their world both games have; that said, it usually ended up sounding horrible because all the converters I've tried simply made the songs into a single "track" that I don't have means of separating.
Can anyone share .midi files if you happen to have them? Please? Thanks in advance!

There are plenty programs for that, some even purely online: google (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=converter+mod+to+midi+files) gave me on top an online service where you can upload mods and download converted midis...

I've actually tried that one. It ended up mixing everything just into one single track so one instrument tried to play a multitude of notes from the whole song, resulting in songs sounding like utter garbage.
Hence why I ask for help. I'm not that lazy not to use google.

Oh, sorry.
I tried it a while ago with a different (non-UQM) mod, and it worked fine for me.
