Title: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: OHHDEAR on March 08, 2003, 08:23:13 pm The Talking Pet told me not to leave the system. What happens if I do?
I've got an army of Ur-Quan just outside of the system ensuring the game doesn't get a chance to yell at me. Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Death 999 on March 08, 2003, 08:33:06 pm My Guess: you can't use the talking pet again and so you will have to fight a fleet of about 15 dreadnoughts or 15 maulers BEFORE getting to the Sa-Matra with its 3-of-each fleet.
Perhaps it's even worse than that. I do remember that the first time my friend and I played the game we used our badass battleship to systematically cream every one of those battle groups before we even GOT the talking pet... Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Captain Smith on March 09, 2003, 04:50:05 am Just as an FYI I did bring super bad-ass battleship over along with a whole mess of Spathi escorts (to hold spare crew)...
I blew away the entire ring of Ur-Quan/Kohr-Ah ships...got to the Sa-Matra....unlimited Ur-Quan met me....there's a possibility of why the Ur-Quan lost the Doctrinal War... Oh, and when you emergency warp out of the unlimited Ur-Quan battle, if you left any of the ships in that ring, they chase your ass to the ends of the earth until you get out of Ur-Quan space... Sounds like fun heh Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Sudo_Nym on March 09, 2003, 10:29:21 am Didn't the Chmmr take out your emergency warp thingy inorder to make room for the BTNB (Bigger Than Neccesary Bomb)?
Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Omni-Sama on March 09, 2003, 09:56:59 pm Quote Didn't the Chmmr take out your emergency warp thingy inorder to make room for the BTNB (Bigger Than Neccesary Bomb)? Yep, which is why it's not smart to go visiting any hostile aliens' homeworlds before you fight the Sa-Matra. Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Captain Smith on March 09, 2003, 10:52:37 pm there's nothing keeping you from going to visit the Sa-Matra system at any time....as I said I used super bad-ass and cool ship and not Bloated Glory Device.
Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: SupremeLordTanaka on March 10, 2003, 01:15:26 am is there a way you can use the bomb for something else, like blowing up an alien world, without the game being over?
Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Nic. on March 10, 2003, 01:53:54 am Yes, you can actually blow up the Rainbow Worlds with it! And when you do, you end up finding another bomb in the debris, to keep the game from becoming "unwinnable". Rather cute.
To do this, you need to repair the Ultron and recover the bomb without saving the game, then head to any Rainbow or Shattered World and use the bomb. Really. Trust me. Why would I lie about such a thing? ;) Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: John Doe on March 10, 2003, 04:03:40 am and once you blow-up the planet, you'll find the cloaking device inside ::)
Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Death 999 on March 10, 2003, 11:07:56 pm You only get the cloaking device if you first pillage the planet's core with a dnyarri-controlled Deep Child before blowing it up.
Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Vee-R on March 11, 2003, 12:55:44 am Fools - did you not know that the cloaking device is a myth?! Once you blow up the planet's core, what you find is a *Nnngn* Caster (but only if you have both the Umgah Caster and Burvix Caster first!). This Caster has an IDF (Inter-Dimensional Fatigue) related nature. Thus, when you use the three Casters together anywhere in Orz space, a black dot appears on the radar and starts chasing you. This is NOT the Melnorme; rendezvous with it, and converse with THE ANDROSYNTH!!!
If you're not in the Orz sphere of influence, nothing will happen, but NEVER EVER attempt to do this in the Arilou sphere or in Quasispace - everything that *smells* of *Nnngn* is BAD news there. You will be trapped *below*, and that is somewhere you DON'T want to be. Trust me. Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Omni-Sama on March 12, 2003, 04:59:32 am Remember to NEVER, EVER mention the Orz in the presence of the Androsynth. Doing so will lead to *dancing* and *smelling* like you wouldn't imagine. Not a pretty sight at all...
Quote You will be trapped *below*, and that is somewhere you DON'T want to be. Trust me. BTW, I trust you about as far as I can throw you... and let me assure you, that's not very far... lol. :P Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: JonoPorter on March 13, 2003, 02:01:31 am what they should have done is have some sort of secret weapon of device on the surface of the planet below the sa-matra. because the only way to get to it would be to fight a whole lot of ur-quan
ideas: cloaking device, shield, missle launching module, or after burner for the mothership Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Death 999 on March 13, 2003, 02:25:14 am LAUNCH FIGHTERS!
FWOOSH! a fried for the mother ship. Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Omni-Sama on March 13, 2003, 03:34:41 am Quote what they should have done is have some sort of secret weapon of device on the surface of the planet below the sa-matra. because the only way to get to it would be to fight a whole lot of ur-quan ideas: cloaking device, shield, missle launching module, or after burner for the mothership By that time, the game would be all but over and it wouldn't be worth it. Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: Captain Smith on March 13, 2003, 04:36:39 am How about some other planet in the Ur-Quan sphere of influence?
I've always fantasized about the idea of being able to launch the planet landers as fighter aircraft...or I guess maybe use them to lay siege to a colonized planet...that would definitely be fun... But that's an idea...discover enough of a Ur-Quan ship intact to maybe give this capability or information on technology like the Melnorme...say 100 RU per fighter pod, 10000RU for the pod on the ship filled with say 20 fighter craft... Speaking of that, heavy mystery time...when you play Ur-Quan versus Ur-Quan in melee, why do the fighter craft that get launched not fight each other? Title: Re: Final Battle Question *SPOILERS* Post by: JonoPorter on March 14, 2003, 05:01:24 am well if you put the device on the planet below the sa-matra you would have too do it before you install the bomb. because once the bomb is in place you have no more landers.
it would be rather cool to have a fighter lauch pod and with the amount of crew a mother ship can support ;D but make it so you can only have one specail. if you have shields you cant have point defence and so on. |
