Title: Most productive planets
Post by: VaXiS on March 24, 2003, 10:53:38 pm
I have a suggestion to make a list of the planets with the greatest amount of minerals. All I remember is Alpha Centauri I. What else?

The Pages of Now and Forever has had such resources posted publicly for years now.  For instance:

http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/sc2/maps5.shtml

...the red dots correspond to stars with lots of goodies on them, the hollow circles are supergiants, also coloured to indicate mineral wealth.

They've also got a "star search" program online, put in search terms (e.g., "Mycon" or "Rainbow" or "Zeta Hyades") and it will show you all the relevant info it can find about them:

http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~starcontrol/sc2srch/

...if you enter the search term "minerals" you'll get a nice list of places to go.

That map is wacked, since it goes in reverse order from the "hottest stars" rule that Cmmdr Hayes gives you (and that seems to be pretty well true). So as a rule the blue stars are red dots and the red stars are blue dots. ::sigh::

Still, useful.

I have a project going to map the whole of the SC2 universe.
I only have about 20% of the systems online, so far,
but they are the systems near to earth. Full searching capacities available.

Enjoy

this is definitely nofty -- in that it contains more specific data than the database at the pages of now and forever -- and pictures!

(
"nofty" <- a term invented by accident at sluggy.net
nafty == not very good. Kind of the average of nifty and nasty
nefty == nearly nifty
nifty maintains its meaning
nofty == niftier than nifty
nufty == so mindbogglingly cool that it must contain the question to life the universe and everything
)
