Title: Utwig Redub raw files? Post by: Mirrorman95 on April 30, 2019, 07:55:44 pm (http://i.imgur.com/YKkvJYnl.jpg)
On topics 4187, 3681, and 3731.15, there are lots of dead links to versions of Lance Meibos's Utwig Redub pack, including the original raw files and versions of the pack with and without vocal filters. Right now, the only active link to the mod is at megamod.serosis.net (http://megamod.serosis.net), which only has the version with vocal effects. And that would be just fine with me, except some of the audio files, like utwig-027.ogg, cut off at the last syllable. I was hoping that, with the original voice clips, there might be a way to fix them. If anyone has or can obtain a copy of any of those other files or versions of the voice pack, I would appreciate it if they posted them here. Title: Re: Utwig Redub raw files? Post by: JHGuitarFreak on May 01, 2019, 03:38:30 pm I'm the only one who links to it directly and it's really just for the MegaMod (Or the latest Git snapshots).
UQM-HD mod and HD-Remix have the files as well but you have to download the entire deal to get to them. But they're also formatted to work with code based on Vanilla 0.7.0 rather than code based on the latest Git snapshots. I also really tried my hand at recovering the unedited files with no luck. Those poor, unarchived links are as dead as dead can be. I wonder, with careful sound editing could we perhaps fix the files by hand? Title: Re: Utwig Redub raw files? Post by: Mirrorman95 on May 01, 2019, 03:57:57 pm Perhaps, but without the original voice clips, it is beyond my abilities. The clips on hand would either need to be repaired by a sentence-mixing master, like the kinds that are active on YouTube, or Lance Meibos would have to resubmit recordings of those cut-off syllables. With the original links dead with no active mirrors, I don't see what else can be done.
Title: Re: Utwig Redub raw files? Post by: metamorphosis on May 11, 2019, 09:10:29 am I didn't originally notice any clipped-off passages in the .ogg files, but there's no 'formatting' difference between the .ogg files for any versions.
The .ogg format hasn't changed in years, the only thing that could've changed is the playback code. Originally the utwig voiceovers were at 44khz and sounded weird and not-in-keeping with the other 3do voiceovers which are all at 11khz. They were downsampled in a commit I made, which made them fit the rest of the game better. However if you go back and explore the previous git commit (https://sourceforge.net/p/urquanmastershd/git-new/ci/61b67b0e80f0bf8d3337c28c2c760b90cea46461/tree/) you will find the original utwig .ogg's still have the clipped endings eg. https://sourceforge.net/p/urquanmastershd/git-new/ci/61b67b0e80f0bf8d3337c28c2c760b90cea46461/tree/content/addons/3dovoice/utwig/utwig-027.ogg Incidentally the last git commit reflects most of the changes made in HD Remix. So it's likely that the original .wav files were also clipped. And there is no current known version without the voice effects. Still better than the original 3do voiceovers regardless. Oh boy were they bad |
