I didn't know they were able to make a 3-D map like that, at least to the detail this one has. It's really neat to look at, especially with names like Lacaille, Indi, Groombridge, Wolf 359 (Can you say Star Trek? ;D ) on it: Star Control II classics. And hey, it even has an arrow pointing towards the galactic centre. This is a really amazing site, considering it must be near-impossible to create a map of all these stars on such a scale.
Very cool... it is a mind-blowing universe out there - it just keeps getting bigger!!! But yeah, there's that theory of an inverse kinda big bang where evertyhing comes back, and then you have another big bang. It must suck to live at the end of a cycle....
