Title: Mycon help Post by: shyguy on April 26, 2003, 07:01:02 am I'm kinda stuck here.
The Syreen told me to lure the Mycon to Organon. Ok, so I go to Beta Brahe I, tell them about Organon, then head on over to that system. But there's no one there on the closest planet. What am I missing or what didn't I do? Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Sturm on April 26, 2003, 07:36:21 am you might have to wait a while.
P.S where is the Syreen Homeworld, since you seen to know ;) Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: AnonomouSpathi on April 26, 2003, 09:36:38 am Beta Brahe.....eh...no wonder, that's the wrong mycon world. Need to go to the source of Juffo-wup, not the mycon special place. Try looking through mycon space to find the other mycon world. You'll know you found it, cause they react when you tell them about Organon, instead of insisting you leave.
P.S. The syreen were slave shielded on the...um..er..bugsquirt start system. Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Captain Smith on April 26, 2003, 09:43:51 am If I recall, don't the Mycon tell you straight away where the "source of Juffo-Wup" is?
Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Sturm on April 26, 2003, 09:46:02 am Quote If I recall, don't the Mycon tell you straight away where the "source of Juffo-Wup" is? no, those guys pretty much talk to themselves Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: AnonomouSpathi on April 26, 2003, 09:49:24 am I believe they were supposed to tell you where the source is, but strangely they don't. I believe I have it written in my notes around here....one sec...
and if by out, you mean out from under the slave shield, yeah. Win the game :) EDIT: Ah, yes, here it is. My notes list the mycon homeworld as Epsilon Scorpii I. Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: AnonomouSpathi on April 26, 2003, 06:21:28 pm Not at Epsilon Scorpii they're not.
Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Captain Smith on April 26, 2003, 06:43:05 pm Juffo-Wup is the hot light in the darkness. All else is unfulfilled Void. The source of Juffo-Wup is at 629.1, 220.8. Uhhh....checked myself....yep...Epsilon Scorpii I. Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: AnonomouSpathi on April 26, 2003, 06:58:56 pm *Grin* miscommunication, perhaps? I meant they're not less likely to nail you to the moon at epsilon scorpii while they're away...since they always have infinite ships there.
Strangely enough, that text isn't actually in UQM though. Didn't make the port from PC to 3DO all those years ago. Probably explains why this question gets asked so much. ED: Doesn't help the pretty much every SC2 faq out there gets this bit wrong, either. Every one I've seen says go to beta brahe to tell em. We might want to put together an UQM faq. Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: shyguy on April 27, 2003, 12:57:10 pm Thanx for all the help guys. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the 3DO version does not state where Juffo-Wup is. Same goes for the location of Syra. I remember playing the PC version all those years ago and not having problems locating worlds (except perhaps Rainbow worlds, which took me the belated discovery of a ruler to figure out :) )

My math teacher really hates me for it. The problem with Star Control 2 faqs is a fairly big one... There are no decent ones out there!!! When I got back into the game and got stuck at this point, I only found on FAQ that had this information in it. Not only that, it was incorrect and told me to go to Beta Brahe. I figured out myself, after visiting nearly every damn system in Mycon space, where to go. It was quite strange, seeing I has no problems finding the place when I first played the game, and I was 7 back then. ;D Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Kohr-Ah_Primat on April 28, 2003, 01:39:52 am Quote i think i'v ben there, and they nailed all my cruisers to their moons, but i took quite a few of them down with me ;) I suggest using Utwig ships against the Mycon Fleet guarding Beta Brahe (post-Organon). It's incredibly easy even if you're a sloppy melee fighter (like me) to take out their entire fleet without taking a single casuality. Title: Re: Mycon help Post by: Lukipela on April 28, 2003, 02:29:52 am Yeah, once you have an Utwig or two, it's rather fun to go for a rampage in Mycon space. you are absolutely untouchable. Fungi boys just dont stand a chance.
