After conducting simulations of every possible match-up in super melee, in all cases with 2 teams of 14 ships each, both on the "Awesome Cyborg" setting, I have amassed the following statistics.

I consider a match to be "roughly even" if one side wins with 2 or fewer ships surviving, anything more and it's a team victory

A "clean sweep" means that one side defeated the other without losing a single ship

Ships get 1 point per victory, and half a point for a tie.

Ranking, from the lowest to highest:

#20. Thraddash and Zoq-Fot-Piq, tied with 1.5 points each.

Notes: It's interesting that, going by human play, the Thraddash is generally considered the best ship, IIRC, but here, it's tied for worst. Both of the ships here did not score a single team victory against any other team.

#19. Shofixti, with 3 points

Notes: Considering their tendency to blow themselves up at the earliest opportunity, it makes sense they were another ship that scored no team victories, and could only tie against ships with too few hitpoints to survive a Glory Device, and insufficient weapons to shoot the Scout down before it gets in range.

#18. Umgah, with 4 points

Notes: The lowest ranked ship to actually score victories, albeit only 3. They're annoying, but not very strong.

#17. Supox, with 4.5 points

Notes:

Supox vs. Chmmr has to be the single most unbalanced matchup - it seems impossible for the Supox to win, or even deal any damage, unless the Chmmr crashes into the planet.

#16. Earthling, with 6 points

Notes: The Druuge can take out some stronger ships like the Chmmr sometimes, but it loses against them more often than not.

#14. Melnorme, with 9.5 points

Roughly even against: Spathi, Syreen, Utwig

Notes: The Melnorme is annoying and tricky, but not all that powerful. It's notable for tying against the Utwig, mainly due to its special weapon

#13. Mycon and Syreen, tied with 10.5 points each

Notes: It's interesting that these two are tied, since they have a big battle against each other in canon. Of course, the Syreen beats the Mycon in a direct fight. The Syreen's ability to steal crew also allowed it to achieve several clean sweeps, even ending up with more crew than it started or maxing out its crew by the end of some battles.

#12. Pkunk and VUX, tied with 11 points each

Notes: Props to the Pkunk for tying with the Kohr-Ah. A lot of their better results were due to the luck of their resurrection ability, though. Also, the Pkunk beat the Ilwrath, so it makes you wonder why they were losing against them in canon...

#11. Spathi, with 11.5 points

Notes: Major upset with beating the Kohr-Ah.

#10. Arilou and Mmrnmhrmm, tied with 12.5 points each

Notes: Even though the Mmrnmhrmm seems a lot more powerful, and wins in a direct confrontation, apparently the Arilou is just as effective, overall.

#9. Ilwrath, with 13 points

Notes: You'd think the Ilwrath would be stronger against enemies with homing weapons due to its cloak, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Also, they easily dominate the Thraddash, so I don't see how it was a tie in canon.

#8. Orz, with 15 points

Notes: Their opposite results against the Yehat and Utwig are interesting

Notes: It's able to break even with the supposedly much more powerful Chenjesu and Utwig, which is impressive

Notes: The Chenjesu is usually thought of as the powerhouse of the Alliance in the first game, but it seems the Yehat could equally apply for that title. Tying with the Utwig is a nice achievement.

#4. Kohr-Ah, with 19.5 points

Notes: For being the game's main villains, you'd figure they would be a bit stronger... still, they are one of the top most effective ships.

#3. Ur-Quan, with 20.5 points

Notes: Even though they're even in a direct matchup with the Kohr-Ah, they're apparently a slightly better design overall.

#2. Utwig, with 22.5 points

Notes: The only ship to beat the Chmmr in a straight-up fight, and the only ship not to lose any matches. Pretty amazing that a ship from a race like this can beat both types of Ur-Quan ships, too.

#1. Chmmr, with 23 points

Notes: Beats everything except the Utwig. The Chmmr did say that their ship can beat any other ship in space, except they underestimated the gloomy mask-wearers. Also, they have 6 clean sweeps, 2 more than any other ship.

Full team of 14 means severely disparate teams point values Perhaps better analysis would be of best matched points for the teams, utilizing the 14 slots to account for not quite divisible values.
Also, how many repetitions of the team match-ups? I guess single 14x14 for each match?

In any case, great job collecting and analyzing! Must have taken about 30 hours to complete...

Well the idea was partially to try to see how accurate the point values were...

canon Torches are not flown by Awesome cyborg. Though I do not expect Thraddash to fly like humans, I think they wouldn't do as badly as the Awesome cyborg

Similarly,

Battles might not be 1-on-1, which would severely favor the Ilwrath.

You could count the resurrections and prorate the opposing ships to enforce an average of 1.

The Awesome cyborg didn't know how to fly them most effectively. Some ships came out of this better than others. Kohr-Ah and Thraddash came out particularly badly.

On the other hand, the Utwig and Yehat benefitted from the Awesome cyborg's strengths.
