If you want a really creepy take on the Orz, go over to the SCDB (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~starcontrol/forum/index.php)and read The Grand Council and related threads in heavy space. Also, it's fun to read. Tongue

It also looks more like a real bat. That's definitely a good thing.

Evil symbol, hmm?
Seeing as I stated that I wanted gills and webbed hands and feet, I suppose my evil symbol should be related.

Therefore, it will be a fish head and tail connected by the spine and ribs. You know, like the ones you see in the garbage on cartoon shows? Tongue

I had the ZFP glitch happen to me too, but unfortunately it was between battles, so I didn't get to go all Kung-Fu on the computer with it.

I just read an article in Discover magazine about the whole 'video games are good for you' phenomena. Apparently, laparascopic surgeons who play three or more hours of video games each week are less likely to make mistakes! If I ever have to have surgery, I'm giving the surgeon an X box a month before.

Gills. I would like gills. And hydrodynamic skin, like a dolphin's.

I don't know how this would allow me to super villainous, but I'm sure I would think of something. Maybe I could take up piracy.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot webbed feet. Grin

How do I get the .s3m files to play?

Yeah, we can hardly be expected to know about Rolling Phung algorithms until we discover hyperspace, at least!

Wonder why it's called rolling phung. Did some guy named phung think of it while rolling down a hill?

I have to say that I like the Orz dittie. But the druuge is cool too. They both convey a creepy-evil sort of mood.
11  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Space Junk on: March 15, 2005, 01:12:58 am
Option five: Have the space junk get sucked in by gravity sources and destroyed. It would clump naturally, also, even away from gravity wells.
12  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Space Junk on: March 07, 2005, 09:43:24 pm
I have seen a couple games that actually DO have space junk, and each has a different solution to the problem.

Aftermath, by Madgap, does it with little cargo crates that pop out of blown up ships. This sort of counts, right?

Transcendence, by George Moromisato, does it by leaving wrecks behind of the ships that blow up, and by having little sparklies that show up when you kill things. These get in your way for a short time then disappear.

If you think about it, UQM/SC2 do have space junk, they just choose not to display it during battles. You simply collect it as salvage after the battle.

There you go! That is a really simple system. I hadn't heard of it before. The file is in .zip format, so you'll have to extract it to use it.

grayfox777:

1)Can your E-mail handle a 17 MB attachment?
2)Which version would you like? .66 has more ship types, but the skiff and scout are broken. They work in .655, but the Kohr-Ah, Vux, Ilwrath, etc aren't in it.

3)Do you trust me to not send you a virus? Tongue

I really don't think there is a multiplayer aspect TO follow, other than the initial client/server release.
