Has there been a development snag, or are you just busy, Madgap?

I haven't tried it in multiplayer, but it seems a little (or a lot) awkward. The real time system is a bad idea, too.

It seems like they could find SOME way for some Chmmr and Mrrnmhrmm to have survived. After all, the sun device shouldn't be able to power the stuff on the other side of the planet...unless they have a worldwide power distribution system...

In SC1, each star was connected to the stars near it by little lines. Going from one star to another was one move. So instead of a hyperspace map like SC2 has, it's like an interstate highway system.

Coolest looking ship: Mmrnmhrmm in the X mode.

Coolest looking weapon: Melnorme Primary

Coolest sounding weapon: ZFP tongue. Tongue

The save feature in Aftermath used to work, and then Madgap updated it and it stopped working. Crazy, huh?

The flamer goes out when you get damaged really heavily, when the green section of your health bar starts to go down. All the ships do this to a certain extent, but it's really noticeable with the Ilwrath.

Something tells me that if it was a civil engineering report, it wasn't an 'Environmental Impact Study' such as is now required in the US before any major construction project. You can't get much bigger impact on an environment than turning it funny colors.

It's probable that most of the waste on the rainbow worlds is of a different, possibly unknown nature. If you recall, what the landers gather are pretty much piles of stuff lying around onthe surface. Isn't it probable that even heavier elements would have sunk further into the crust?

My favorite ship would definitely have to be the Zoq-Fot-Pik. It's fast enough to outrun most things, but it's still manueverable. Powerful secondary and a good primary strafing weapon.

Against the computer on a good day, I can take out an Ur-quan or Kohr Ah with just one or two Stingers.

My second favorite would have to be the Arilou. I can't take out Ur-quan with it, but I can know out a Marauder.

Fossas are civets, they're related to mongooses more than anything else. There are about half a dozen other species of civets.

Deep-Jiffa, in UQM, at least, the blade is destroyed by the fusion bolt. The second blade cancels out the shot, not the other way around like you have it.

The auto laser and heavy auto laser should probably not be able to destroy blades, though.

The slitted pupils are what keeps it from being entirely cute...
Mainly I think the name sounds cool, but they are pretty awesome.
You must have one strange cat.

Madgap, were going through New Release Withdrawal Syndrome here! Please give us more Aftermath!!

Part of the delay with the ur-quan would be waiting until they could find other races. In the intro to SC1 it says that our TV signals gave away our location.

The Sa-Matra wouldn't be used except as a last resort, probably. It's their 'great trophy', why risk some sort of natural or unnatural disaster destroying it?

On the subject of the rainbow worlds, about half the stuff there is cheapo elements, and the rest radioactives. They might have developed their technology past the need for sources of ambient radiation, fusion uses hydrogen isotopes instead. Why recycle useless stuff? Changing the form of a radioactive element is hard, it might be cheaper to just mine new material.

I suppose they would make a good sci fi alien species, wouldn't they? They are REALLY creepy looking! Grin

I think the main idea is that the Chmmr are going to come along and finish them all off, but I'm not sure.

I would say that the Umgah would probably just leave and goof off, in the game they mention that being a battle thrall is inconvenient for playing practical jokes.

I just ran across a REALLY wierd glitch in .655 (I use that version because I like the scout more than any other ship, and it doesn't work in .67)

I was headed for an enemy system and got intercepted, and as soon as I came out of hyperspace, my ship got caught in a massive gravity well. I blew up the two ships and then looked at the gravity well: It was black, and strong enough that I couldn't escape from it. The meteor that I tried firing go sucked back in, even.

Has anyone else run across this? Is it intentional? Traveling black holes could be kind of cool... Tongue
