Awesome.  Sad you didn't include the grandkids part tough! Tongue

The position is fine, but perhaps change the angle?  So it's more lined up with the Earthling Cruiser next to it?

I think there was mention of human scouting ships or something in one of the Hayes conversations.
I know Hayes was stationed on a Shofixti Scout for a period of time.  Can't recall human scouts being mentioned.  Though I can't imagine each race didn't have a wide variety of ships for different functions.  Well, excluding the Shofixti (most of their other things probably would have been handled by the Yehat) and the Ur-Quan (leaving most tasks to thrall slaves).

They weren't a significant issue before the war because few of the races knew of them.  Pretty much, it'd only have been the Yehat and their ships are well suited for turning Intruders into scrap.

Just the VUX -seeing- humans was enough to make them want to destroy Earthling craft.  Without the Ur-quan to hold them in check, would they be able to resist taking out Earth freighters?

As for ZEX?  I find it hard to believe an entire race that spread across numerous worlds would be unable to field another tactician.

The VUX are inherently aggressive and xenophobic.  Of all the Hierarchy races, they're one of the ones most likely to continue the war.  Especially against Earth.  I could easily see the VUX going pirate in Earthling space.

I just really cannot get behind the idea of the Alliance slave-shielding anyone. After at least three core members of the old core alliance were slave-shielded for so long, you would have to be very cynical to think that that's an appropriate way to deal with opposition, and it somehow makes you not want to fight for those guys anymore.
I will say this:  Provided the Alliance does not believe it to be a permanent solution, but rather a stopgap until they decide what to REALLY do with them?  It makes sense.  They would do it reluctantly while they rebuild and debate what steps to take.  Like with the Mycon.

11/11/11?  You guys like competing with Skyrim? Tongue

I've played the demo when it first came out.  It's interesting, looks promising.  Miss my space tug though!
38  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Teabaggers on: November 05, 2010, 11:45:22 am
why are these nuts worshiping Regan and not say i don't know Lincoln ya know the guy who ended slavery.
Reagan was the first true conservative in American politics in the modern era.  He created many traditional mindsets that still exist.

Lincoln was a pseudo-socialist despot.  He suspended habeas corpus, had legislatures arrested just incase they might even think about seceding, sought to control the press, etc.  The biggest fallacy about the man is that he "freed the slaves".  He did nothing of the sort.  The Emancipation Proclamation only declared the elimination of slavery in States currently in an act of rebellion against the Federal Government.  Basically, the President of the United States of America ordered the freedom of the slaves in the independent Confederate States of America.  It was a political maneuver, nothing more.  He wanted to encourage slaves to rebel against their masters.

Meanwhile, there were slaves still in the United States...

As for the Tea Party, the "tea" part stands for Taxed Enough Already.  They support devolved government (more power to local and state government rather than Federal), lower taxes, etc.  Certainly nothing wrong with that.  Strong Federal/Weak State vs Weak Federal/Strong State has been an argument that's been fought over since before the Declaration of Independence was written!
39  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Xfire support for The Ur-Quan Masters on: October 26, 2010, 01:09:29 am
While I agree that we should have some "lobby" for network SuperMelee, Xfire is not the answer.
UQM is cross-platform, while Xfire is apparently Windows only.

While Xfire may not be the answer, it's certainly a step in the right direction and will surely give UQM (and the Star Control series) more publicity in the modern gaming world.  Which is a good thing. Tongue

Yes.  And you can delay it too depending if you make allies with the right people.
41  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Aliens in scifi on: February 18, 2005, 11:48:53 am
Yes, they had their own form of Precursors.

Cardassians, IMO, are closer to Fascism/Nazism than Communism.
42  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Aftermath on: February 14, 2005, 03:37:35 pm
Hrm...  Perhaps replace the Yehat fighters with small Shofixti Scout models?  It'd make sense due to the relationship between the Yehat and Shofixti (Yehat Carrier anyone?) as well as make sense with their general ship design.
43  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Aftermath on: January 28, 2005, 10:03:49 am
Is it out yet?  =P

You know...  If you made a slightly larger SC2 map, added a few old Alliance ships...  You could most likely do a great remake of SC1.  But, you know, with a story. Tongue
44  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: I found this terribly amusing on: January 14, 2005, 09:06:53 am
Playstation outlived both for the most part.

However...  perhaps we should still try that just to get a new StarCon game?  lol
45  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Merry Christmas! on: January 11, 2005, 07:55:54 am
Yeah, I do.  I tend to be in hyper during my birthdays though...
