Ok, ill see if i can find the tutorial, i have to say though my programing abilities are limited to Batch files and Dragon script. Im fairly good at hacking save files with a hex editor but the main data unless its in text i dont have the first clue

I know this is a stupid question but i was wondering if there is a list of homebrew mods for this game out their. in particular id like to see a mod that increased the time aloted before the urquan start anyilating everyone. But any mods to change my 6th playthorugh of this game would be cool. anyways thanks.

Ok i admit first off i might be looking at this wrong, just watning to see this, but then again its sci fi? Created originaly on a AMIGA (SC1 for the amiga) and animaters have been known to place funny things into shows cause they know it cant be seen, though with the advent of TIVO and slow motion play i found this. It looks to me to be the Star Control 2 Flagship. Im ging to post this with 5 images if i can. now keep in mind this sequece happend in mayby 2 seconds, and it may be a trick of the eye, but i think its prety neat. Somehow i get the feeling that im already disliked in this place but what hte heck im going to reply anyways I like The idea of adding the black squadren. I agree with the fact that every race has its exception to tendancys. And since its already mentiond in the game it makes perfect sense for a addition, no it doesent add a whole lot to the plot. But it would be fun Anyways thats my view on this topic

My Favorite qoute has to be the one from the druuge Forgive me if i dont get it exact though "ok were hooking up our fuel lines to your ship now, Now lets see that comes out to 1591 units! AHHHHH You've sucked my tanks untill they are Dry! What will i tell my manager?? my spouse?? Thell send me to work in the furnaces for sure!!" it sounds best spoken on the UQM version. I nearly fell out of my chair when i heard that one anyways this is my 2 cents on this topic

The thing is i do not know how to compile the code. I dont have the first clue even though its probably easy. if anyone could compile those features (btw i use windows) i would be verry thankfull but i dont want to inconvinence anyone. Is there anyplace i could get instructions and the parts to edit and compile the game? thanks and i hope im not bothering Wyrinn

Well the first thing i ended up doing was opening a command line and trying the modifyers from there. once i came up with a set that i liked (and didnt glitch, no idea why my machine seems to hate it so much) i went back to my DOS experince and created a .bat file added the line into it Uqm -o -m pc -q low -d 16 then all i had to do was run the bat file whenever i wanted to launch the program. I hope this helps?
Btw to create a bat file just open notepad type in the comands and then save it as a .bat insted of a .txt

Ill be quite honest on this, Its a extreemly strange question about modifying the game.
I have beaten SC2 at least 5 since i got the pc version and i am working on the UQM Version right now. After ive beaten a game i often like Modifying it to see what can be done. For example using cheat coads to give certain advantages or disadvantages, or in this case i phyisicaly modifying the game thorugh a hex editor
My abilitys are verry limited ill be quite honest, last night i tryed to figure out how to dot his and failed, What i was trying to do exactly was modify 3 componets, Change the fuel tank capacity to 500, change the crew capacity to 300 and the Storage capacity to something like 5000. I know this will unbalence the game but i enjoy collecting lots of minerals, but to do this i always fly around with a ship with no weapons. so im always running from a fight. I just wanted to try to Modify the game with these specs and see how it went. Just for fun nothing else.
Anyways i was wondering if anyone knows what hex value in what file i should modify or if there is a file that is strait text with all the values in it. If you could help that would be cool, if not thats ok to. im still enjoying it as is. just like to play with modifications to a game. Anyways Thanks again for listining to my rambeling.

Ok first of id like to say that i love this re release of sc2 in this UQM format. I must thank all that have worked on it.
Anyways ive read alot of the fourm the last few days in between hyperspace travel, and i decided to put my 2 cents in here with a idea (i also have a question that is rather strange but ill put it into another post)
Ive seen alot of talk about Sequals (overiding number 3) to UQM but i have not yet seen anyone talk of a Prequal? What i saw of SC1 it was like a historical database of battles in the war, i did not see alot of set plot line as the battles you played could go either way. now it has been upwards of 7 years since ive played SC1 so my information may be inacurate. My thought was to use the SC2 engine to create a Prequal. but this time play as the Heiarchy (i probably mis spelled that sorry if i did) Im not sure how you could get around the whole Precurser vessal thing but perhaps you could do something like the sa-matra before they knew exactly how to use it. Like in its infancy, the game could base apon a quest for more information on the sa-matra.
Anyways im not meening to start a argument or anything like that, some people i have noticed do get angry at ideas every so often, but i thought i would toss this up here. i am enjoying this new to me release of sc2 quite alot. and again i thank all that work on it. My only wish is that i had more of a knowledge of programing to help with the project. Anyways i will sign out now and post my weird question in another post. Thanks for listining to my rambilings
