Shocked Sadly, my year 12 physics isn't up to that. You've just prooved why you should stick to writing games, and I should stick to writing lowly embedded C applications for AVR microcontrollers.

Yeah, I can see why Blizzard turned me down and why I'm writing camera drivers instead.  Keep up the great work.

I think his problem is that he doesn't want to take the time to learn it.

I too vote for 3D cel-shaded graphics.  All the advantages of having 3D computer generated images with the charm of a cartoon.

And Merry Fuck-You-Hilary-Clinton to you too.

I know a little OpenGL.  I can draw colorful 3D object with OpenGL and do a little morphing stuff with them... but lighting and texture mapping are beyond me right now.  I'm still trying to figure out the NeHe tutorials on those topics.  If I put a little time into it, I can figure that stuff out.

I should really be studying for my finals and getting my projects done but this thing pulls me like a magnet.

I wish I had that kind of dedication.

By the way, what kind of help are you looking for?  I'm mainly a C++ programmer with Visual Studio 05, but I have some knowledge with C#.

That was awesome.  I especially liked the Androsynth smashing all the hunams...

I thought this article was interesting.  I don't care much for 50 Cent or his music, but he does believe in parental responsibilities.  Although I don't think his game would be the one I would choose for my kids...

If you watched the G4 special on violence in video games, there was one guy that mentioned that as the sale of violent games increased, the number of violent crimes decreased nationwide.  If what he says is true, then this data goes against the claim that violent games makes kids more violent.

OK... let's try this again.  This time, with Imageshack.

Right now, I have most of the basic physics set up for controlling the ships, I can set it up for primary and secondary weaponry.  My goal wasn't to add any of the SC2 ships but it was easier just to use the existing art from SC2 than it would to make a whole new batch of images for ships.  And I'm more of a programmer than an artist.  For now I'm going to use the SC2 art until I can replace them with my own images.

One of the features I want to add is space terrain such as nebulas and mine fields to mix up the dynamics of combat.  And of course, the main feature I want to add is the 3D starfield for the strategic portion of the game.  Still got a lot to do but it's coming along pretty good.

You know, this is funny.  I posted this last night and the image looked fine..  Now you get that crap..  Oh well...  I'll figure something else out...

Just wanted to give out a little update on the game that I'm working on.  If you can't see the image below, we got Shofixti vs Samatra.

This is no where near playable yet, but it's a start.  I still have to put in some collision detection and I want to add some AI before thinking about releasing anything...

Damn, I knew I did it wrong...  I was beating the crap outta the pkunk the entire time and not getting anywhere....

All I can say about this is...  WTF?!!!

The only thing I can think of is probably very ineffiencient, but might not be too bad if you only have two ships to worry about.

For each frame...
if ship velocity or angle have changed
Calculate the current path for each ship.
Find the coordinates where the paths intersect.
Determine from the path information if they will be at that point at the same time.
if the time they intersect is equal to or less than the current time
      Collision!!!

Something like that...  If I took the time to try programming it I could probably figure out if this'll work or not.
