Well I think most of us don't view information from SC3 as canon. At least that's the image I've gotten out of the people here.

I'm obliged to participate at this point, because the hint is wrong. While you can find something valuable in that system it is not what the little green men want you to find.

I just tried playing Star Control 1 on a Pentium 133 with a Sound Blaster AWE 32. The thing is that I get no sound at all. I played the same game with a 386 as well (no soundcard), but in this case the game uses PC speaker for sound.

The soundcard works for other DOS games  so I wonder why it doesn't say anything. The game should at least use the PC speaker, shouldn't it?

Will the text be going forward at the same pace as the speech in the final version? The current mode is quite confusing as either the speech or the text is way ahead of the other. The text can easily be fastforwarded, but then the speech stops, which sucks. Any comments on these?

I just noticed that this version has two ship slots less than the PC version. This means that there can no longer be the Hierarchy and Alliance teams that I've known for a decade. Sad. .(

Has anyone ever used Chmmr Avatars to pull the tiny ships of Shofixti and the like? You can really make them blaze around the battlefield that way. .)

You have to get into the Ilwrath home system, no other will suffice. Once there, just use it from the item menu and a conversation will pop up.

It wasn't obsolete, it just stopped working. The only ship capable of interstellar travel was the Precursor ship with its warp bubble technology. All others were stuck in their own solar systems.

Yes, that's right, you should! I played it, but was never able to complete it, because of some bug. I tried going onwards by following every single step of a walkthrough, but it didn't work out. I just couldn't stand that game and am now ignoring everything it had to say about the SC universe. For me, there is no information about the happenings of the galaxy after Star Control 2.

If my memory serves me right (which I think it does), you only have to kill 10 groups of ships, not 25 ships.

And Azrael, have you tried asking more info from the Melnorme? I think you need to ask him twice to get the correct Syreen info. Or did he already say specifically that the Mycon destroyed their world?

In the original game Arilous could fly past any fortifications while all other ships had to stop there. There were many fun little things like that in the game, which was nice.

I have met a situation where the Kohr-Ah have destroyed everone and transmitted the message: "You are defeated." Regardless, the game could be continued and Sa-Matra be destroyed. It seemed very buggy though, can't remember exactly what happened.
