People have been making war with each other for thousands of years as well, you know.

As horrible as it is, war is mankind's greatest incentive to innovate. Nothing inspires people to create amazing (and sometimes terrible) things better than their desire to survive and emerge victorious over their foes.
I have to say  that I disagree. Wealth, in my mind, has been the greatest incentive to innovate.

The Orz themselves are the manifestations. The technology is just that: technology. It can be built by anyone.
But they need ship captains...
Even though they are a single entity, it could be possible that the single entity expresses itself in multiple forms in our universe.

Yo Death 999, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish but the Climate Skeptic has one of the most facinating blogs of all time

Huh

Are you casting yourself as an officially recognized jackass?

As a matter of fact, no. I just woke up that day and though that I had never used West refrence before. If that made you sad then I apologize Embarrassed.

But seriusly, Climate Skeptic has some good points.

I mean personally, if you really want to know how Global Warming skeptics think, this man and his few months old lecture can do it. I recommand people interesred in Global Warming to see it just for the sake of knowing both sides.

Thanks, I got the files open, but I still cannot find the Ur-Quan theme, or any other races theme that matter. only general themes and voice acting :/.

No offense but, didn't we already have a topic for SC mysteries?
10  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / One freaking song! on: May 18, 2009, 08:23:05 pm
Yesterday I was playing UQM, when I allowed the Neo-Dnyarri once again to send me on my way to certain death as I was without the Taalo Shield.  The Ur-Quan asked me WTF had happened and as I usual I told them about the mental compulsion.

Like normally, the Lord commanding that ship was afraid. I had seen that scene so many times, but this one was diffrente. Perhaps the fact that I have matured somewhat, perhaps I jsut never realized it. But the fact that the Ur-Quan were afraid got me excited (not in THAT way). I suddenly found that I very much liked The Ur-Quan Kzer-Za out of all other races within Star control universe.

I also found out that their theme song wich plays inthe back was also awesome and as a loyal fan I began my quest to find it so I could lissen to it even without UQM and now, after over a day of searching on the internet or finding a way to crack UQM file for 3do music package.

As I have not found either of them, I now seek the help and guidance of the holy techomages of Technical Issues forum!

Pretty please  Lips Sealed?

Thanks, but as I putted the installer on XP compatability mode, it worked.

Still, quite odd...
12  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Installer crashes. on: May 12, 2009, 10:33:21 pm
I tried to install uqm on my new Vista, the installer downloadet everything, but stops responding when it tryis to download uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm, even thougt I was certain it had done that already.

Quite confusing :/.
13  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: The most embarassing moment on: May 11, 2009, 10:40:34 pm
As this changed from embarrsment to things you have regretted, I might as well add to the list.

The one most thing I have regretted in my live is the fact that I haven't had the balls to ask this gilrl out for the past... three months.  Sad
14  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Professional off-shoot of Star Control on: May 11, 2009, 10:25:00 pm
Yeah, my school computer had it blocked, sorry :/.

But on the subject, I find it fantastic that professionals are interested!
15  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Mysteries of the Star Control Universe... theories much appreciated! on: May 11, 2009, 10:24:03 pm
Hmm... Hmm... Now that's something god damm hard to argue...

But this just gives me a new oppertunity to point out that Arilou would most likely gather the local races. In the original time line beofre Earth was called to battle, Arilou were sure that either Kzer-Za would one day come and slave shield them or the Alliance would won. The humans joining the war changed Arilou strategy as humanity going global would change (I would figure that at worst constant war would turn humans into a species that would allow itself to be enslaved, rather then shieldet.).
However, I find no other way to save humanity then a alliance of races.

Also, on the subject, why does most people argue that Arilou would comromise with just taking few humans. I mean, call me a fan of them, but after just spending once again playing SC 2 and talking with them making conversation about how they used to go to Earth in the past, I just can't imagine them exploiting every other possibility before beign forced to sarcifice Earth.

And now that I have soften you with my mind melting text, does anyone mind if I would write a fanfic about this theory in the future  Grin?
