"Misspelled" is correct in both UK and US English. Are you confused or trying to wind us up?

*Profanity deleted* I really thought I had spelled misspell wrong. Oh My God. I'm really sorry.  :-/

And for reference, Blizzard has never ever pretended that WoW is a "sequel" to W3. It is merely another game in the same universe.

But is wasn't misspelled. There is not one true English Orthography. Or, if you want to be strict about it, there is English orthography, in which 'Favourite' is correct and 'Favorite' is incorrect; and there is American Orthography, in which the reverse is the case. Either way, on an international forum it is improper to go around insisting on a strictly local spelling rule.

But I wasn't insisting. My mispelling of mispelled was supposed to indicate it was a joke. Embarrassed Apologies to all involved for messing up this excellent thread with a joke that misfired.

"Crap" one syllable.
"SC3" three syllables.

Does anyone else feel compelled to try and punch this guy through their computer like I do? Star Control 1 was a cute spin-off of Archon. THAT'S IT. It was not all that significant on its own, and I think we may have found the only person on the planet who feels otherwise.

I think SC 1 was more than an archon spinoff. Its 3d star map, nice turn system, simple production system, and far more complex combat make it a serious evolution of Archon. Like Tekken 2 vs Tekken 3. T3 broke so much new ground. But Tekken Tag... well, that was only small step.

SC 1 was ambitious, and accomplished its goals well. I played SC 2 first, and experienced reverse disappointment that SC 2 wasn't more like 1. The adventure mode was excellent, true. But I want the 3D rotating strategy starmap game back.

Instead of giving the ships hitpoints and stats, the game just looks up the probability of winning for each ship against another. The amount of ships serves as hitpoints instead. It also makes the battles look big.

Boring. Play the recent Reach for the Stars if you want that.

Sad

Noone commented about my mispelling of mispelling. I spelled it misspelled. That was intentional, too given i was complaining about the spelling of a word!

Okay, searched for "Favorite Ship" and didn't find this thread. Ran into it by accident. Note the MISspelling in the thread name.  Grin

So... my fav ship. Hmm.

I like manuverability. So high rankers are Slylandro, Supox, and Airlou.

I also like the Druuge, because I like pegging people from across the map. You should see me snipe in Quake 3. Cool

But my favorite...

Dunno. I'll play a bunch of Super Melee again, and let you guys know.  Wink
9  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Favorite Sneaky Wins on: May 09, 2005, 08:31:24 pm
What wins do you guys like pulling off?

I like beating anything bigger with the Supox by moving funny so they miss.  Grin

I like taking stuff out long range with the Mauler. Very much fun if you can get your aim down.

And if you can manage to lick someone to death with the ZoqFotPik, that's fun.

Sort of reminds me of taking out a Galleon with a Pinnache in Pirates!
10  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Least favorite ship? on: May 09, 2005, 08:27:40 pm
My least favorite has got to be...

Hmm. I don't think I have one. They all have their uses. I might have least favorite ship-pair battles though.

No complaints about the AI have any bearing for me, because I really consider Super Melee to be the main mode. Don't get me wrong, the 1P story mode is one of the best I've seen. I mean, in which other game can you actually alter the course of history with your decisions?

Star Control 4: Ur-Quan Return?
Maybe something 3D and like Freelancer, that would be very cool.

I disagree. There are tons of those games. I want more 2D space combat. The map, travel, and all that can be 3D, and probably should be. But the combat needs to remain true.
12  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Star Con II on: May 09, 2005, 09:26:24 am
I never finished this game the first time around, as I played it at a friend's place. Remember that KD?  Grin

But I did play a lot of Super Melee.

Wow, I just installed v0.3, and got hooked all over again playing the single player and one super melee. What a great game. Thanks for resurrecting it!
