That is hilarious!

Too bad I didn't think of doing that in the playthrough I just completed.  Ahh, well.

The best thing for you to do at the start is pay attention to everything the Commander tells you Smiley.  The plot does progress itself, but note-taking is definitely essential, even if you think something is minor and insignificant it may actually be a key plot element later on.

There are also certain aliens who will give you information.  Pretty much all of this information is pertinent to your success in the game, especially when people make references to particular races or star systems.

I found a bug with the Utwig dialogue, sorry if it's already been mentioned but I haven't spotted it on here:

EDIT:

I also found a similar problem when you are talking to the Ilwrath and suggest that they're doing good rather than evil, I think it was the last speech fragment runs longer than the text.

Aha, I see what you mean.

Well, I have an interest in seeing how often fictional predictions pan out when the future rolls around Smiley

Obviously we would hope this one doesn't take place... but you never know, right?  Especially with the conflicts going on in Russia, N. Korea and the Middle East.

How do you reduce cursor smoothness?  I couldn't find any option for it.

Bahaha, Zapp Brannigan, I may have played a game with Captain Zapp as my name once Smiley.

My current playthrough is Captain Dave of the Starship Violator.

No real reason.

After playing for about an hour or so, I only really have one gripe.

The cursor movement on the starmap jumps from too slow to too fast, and it's very frustrating and difficult getting it in the exact spot.

I think the problem would be less of an issue if its minimum speed were faster, as it is I think it moves too slowly.

I know the game is still in development so I won't gripe too loudly Smiley it looks great, anyway!  Although I have to agree about the Melnorme looking like an orange Smiley

Breaking News!!!

Spies in the US have reported miscellaneous acts of drama involving pilchards and small teddy bears.  Upon querying the Hamster Capo, reporters of dooooom say purple skies sound like squid.  Sheepishly, a small cattle prod was discovered switched with an artificial insemination tube.  No porcupines were harmed.

The pilchards were reportedly destroying the teddy bears using small sticks and sinkers.  A larger specimen of pilchard denied the allegations, saying "we have only fins, no arms or legs, so how could we bear any weapon?".  The same pilchard was later seen pilfering the locker of the Great Brown Caterpillar and was arrested on charges of DUI.

Meanwhile, a small flock of lemons were bathing profusely in a small puddle outside the farmer's doorstep.  They were stepped on and crushed, the fools.  The farmer refused to speak to the media, saying only "Get away from me you crazy pigeon-headed vultures".

I'm currently on a pretty big Heroes 3, Prey and Oblivion kick.

I'm loving these games

The Key Jammer was in the SC2 directory, I'm positive.

Of course, I could be positively wrong Smiley But I'm sure I'm not.

Well, I live in Australia...  And no, I wouldn't go to a convention, because I never go to conventions.  I like computer games, but I don't like them THAT much :p

Also, the Ilwrath music would sound better with a double-bass, not a bass guitar.  I'm pretty sure that it's sampled with a double-bass anyway.
15  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: The missing dialog on: April 17, 2007, 07:11:51 am
Speech?  Who cares about speech? :p

I spent YEARS playing the PC version of SC2.  I slaved away at creating custom autoexec.bat and config.sys files so that I could actually have my under-powered computer RUN the game.  I didn't care about speech!

If you can read, you don't need the computer reading the conversations out to you Wink.  Besides, I can read faster than computer games tend to speak and I'm sure a lot of other people are the same way.
