Yeah I want it submitted to speeddemosarchive.com but they're not taking new ones for now...

I did do a new run, saving 20 minutes in time...

If anyone's interested (1:21:49 gametime):

http://4u-servers.co.uk/~striker/StarControl2_12149_LQ.avi (169.89 MB, 200 kbit XviD, 64 kbit mp3, low quality)
http://4u-servers.co.uk/~striker/StarControl2_12149.avi (292.58 MB, 400 kbit XviD, 64 kbit mp3, normal quality)
http://4u-servers.co.uk/~striker/StarControl2_12149_HQ.avi (538.89 MB, 800 kbit XviD, 64 kbit mp3, high quality)

edit: oops, links didn't work, fixed

Had five battles basically

5 mycon for sun device
10 umgah for talking bet
5 druuge for bomb
3 kzer-za/3kohr-ah for samatra
samatra

they all only took a few minutes but still plenty of space for improvement, but for the first three fights i don't really get to pick the ships (can't mine all the resources/ally all the races, time issues)

edit: yeah 640x480, 30 fps, 800 kbps XviD, 64 kbit mp3

Here's a .torrent for your viewing pleasure Cheesy

http://striker.ddcrew.com/sc2_full_hi.torrent

This was my first run through the game in a couple of years so I forgot a bunch of things and slipped up quite a few times, I think if I run through it again I can shave off another 20 minutes at least!

I'm interested in doing a so-called 'speedrun' through SC2, and since I've been reading this forum for years and I've seen some people here are real SC2 geniuses, I wondered if anyone could give me some pointers on how to best accomplish this.

The goal of this speedrun is to finish the game in as little REAL time as possible, which means the actual in game time is pretty much irrelevant (I don't care if I finish it in 2155 or 2160, for example).

What would the best path to take, the best planets to visit, and so forth? I have a speedrun guide here which is focused on getting the shortest virtual time and while some things are certaintly usable, others are mainly focused on getting the best in game time which I'm not interested in.

I hope you guys can help me out!

Here's the link to the speedrun guide I mentioned: http://fyad.org/x/http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/star_control_ii_speed.txt
