1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: The Taalo Project on: September 29, 2007, 01:12:27 pm
A few things to say here:

1) Davey, I'm so sorry I never got back to you with the auditions.  I just cannot get the hang of talking to a machine, and I never realized that my aversion to such a thing was so strong (even though I even have trouble with answering machines...)  But I'll still try.  I have a friend who likes to voice- chat, so that helps.

2) My friend (to do the fem Kohr-Ah) never even got back to me about it.

3) I'm pretty sure I lost the audition lines.  The Myc ones were "look...Think...Act...etc", "A single spore lands...etc" and... "Pulsing hot liquid...", right?  Wait... one of those was "Planetary transformer biot...", wasn't it?  At least I have the quotes all so I can hear them, and write them down if needed.

OK, could you send it to aescudal@lycos.com?  I rarely check the one that's been on my profile here.

And I might have someone willing to do the Kohr-Ah voice.  I'll see if she's interested in the slightest.

I'd be willing to give it a shot.  Are the Mycon taken?
4  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Facebook group on: July 23, 2007, 10:10:48 am
So where are all the American Star Control fans if they're not here?

I'm an American.  We're just rare altogether.  I'm working on increasing the number, slowly but surely.  One by one.  Insidiously.
5  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: What music do you like! on: July 23, 2007, 09:23:04 am
I don't often like particular groups, genres, etc, but I do tend to like VG remixes a lot (http://www.ocremix.org).

TSO's pretty cool.
Gotta like the Beatles.
John Williams is required for a Star Wars fan.
Lemon Demon's a ton of fun.
Pink Floyd, of course.
Rammstein, somewhat.
Weird Al Yancovic.
ELP here and there.
Animusic's cool. (http://www.animusic.com)
And DMA_SC, who did the stuff for Darwinia.

Gaeamil is from EverQuest.  When I create names, I use a random generator which, in this case, gave me something like "Gaeolo", and Gaeamil came to mind.  He was a great Bard in that game (only about level 12 though).
7  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Post in this topic if you would like to play in a Super Melee tournament on: July 11, 2007, 08:40:41 am
Coulda sworn I already posted here.  Oh well.

If I can, I'd play in a heartbeat.  I already was in the Chmmr Chalice, so any others would be sweet.
8  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: Trying to compile on: July 07, 2007, 07:06:00 pm
Huh.  That had randomly disappeared.  Looks like I just needed to fix that, thanks!
9  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: Trying to compile on: July 07, 2007, 09:57:00 am
OK, now that I've found that stupid install.msvc file and followed it, I still can't get rid of all errors.  Here's what I still get:

c:\build\sc2\src\sc2code\libs\sound\openal\audiodrv_openal.h(32) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'AL/al.h': No such file or directory

BSCMAKE: error BK1506 : cannot open file '.\debug_noaccel\audiodrv_openal.sbr': No such file or directory

Any clue where to find these files so I can get the whole thing?  I understand the workings enough to make these work, but they need to exist first.  Is there a backup, or can someone post them somewhere or something?
10  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Yoho! Cower ye mortals, for The Cookies Mod has returned! on: July 07, 2007, 07:04:16 am
Proclamation: Salutations, minimally sentient organisms identified as UQM forumers.
Assertion 1: Approximate date of last posting in current thread equals 12 months ago.
Corollary: Probabilityproject has been abandoned greater than fifty percent.
Assertion 2: Mod equals very interesting.
Conclusion: Only method of confirming project status is resurrecting thread.
Process: Posting...

etc...
I think that it's very interesting that someone who agrees with most as for the "not" in SCnot3 would often use the Daktaklakpak talking style.  Oh, well.

Can't wait to see what cookies may come from this mod.  I just hope someone can make an installer or something so I can use it, with my horrible incapability to compile this game.
11  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: PRECURSOR PRIZE - Summer SuperMelee League on: July 07, 2007, 06:35:43 am
so this is weekly?  Neato.  Count me in.
12  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Project: CWUV on: July 04, 2007, 04:46:12 pm
Don't worry, I'm with you, Val.  The Utwig voice was one of the things I did like in SC-not-really-3.  And also, I agree with letting them NOT RUIN THE BLASTED ULTRON.
13  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Where can I find the original ditties? on: July 01, 2007, 05:34:02 am
Thank you good sir.  I go find it now.
14  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Where can I find the original ditties? on: June 25, 2007, 03:22:22 am
I have all the original .MOD files, but I can't seem to find where any of the ditties are.  I only have the SIS_DIT.  Either a way to rip them out of the source, or a place posted would be great.
15  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Post your jaw-dropping melee feats here on: June 24, 2007, 11:02:46 pm
Got it recorded for essentially one life.  I died without doing damage, so it really doesn't count, right?
