Can I buy one from the ship orbiting the Earth or do I have to go elsewhere? I tried buying one from the ship before but could not find where to buy it.

Like the title says, I cannot seem to dispatch ships to planets to collect minerals and explore. I used to be able to do this, before I visited the ship orbiting Earth. What could the problem be?

So I got to the first battle, just after you talk to the guy on the ship orbiting Earth, but I cannot seem to shoot. I have tried both left and right ctrl and shift buttons on my keyboard but none of them work. What should I do?
