I have also noticed this problem with the mycon podships,  now I know that they are supposed to be able to hit themselves if their angle is not right, but they seem to be hitting themselves even if they are angled correctly... perhaps the bullet's initial spawning coordinates should be slightly further away from the ship?

That is covered under the Collision detection bug as well (noted as fixed in the ChangeLog).

It works well in the latest cvs version.  Although, now it's harder to wipe out the entire Mycon fleet with a single Pkunk.
2  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Earth Base Dialogue (win cvs 0.12) on: December 11, 2002, 09:04:42 pm
The Earth base dialogue doesn't seem to be getting taken out of the "new news queue" after I've been told.  For example, I was told about the probes.  Then I was told about the probes and the zot fot, then the probes, zot fot, and trader.

At some point later most of the news items were deleted, but I'm now forever being told that the Shofixti have returned.

Did not have the problem in 0.1 alpha release for either windows or unix.

Have not played far enough through a unix copy with latest cvs to see if it happens there.
3  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: Tiny graphics bug, after battling Fwiffo at Pl on: December 11, 2002, 08:53:48 pm

I am using a recent build, titled "0.12", courtesy of McMartin.  I went to Pluto, and attacked captain Fwiffo, destroying him. After the battle, the game took me back to the Planet Scan screen.  There I found that any graphics that I had moved my ship selection icon over (before the battle) were still being rendered.  The graphics went away after exiting the Planet Scan screen.

I know, I'm a monster for killing Fwiffo, but I was just curious about what he would say.

I don't know if you wanted conformation on this, but it was easy enough to replicate on my windows cvs copy (PIII, winXP).

And yes, you are a monster.
4  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: colors and mining on: December 08, 2002, 02:26:05 am
Mmm.. anyone else finding amusing that as the leader of the free worlds the first thing you do upon entering a star system is descend upon the planets, pillage their mineral resources and package all the indigenous life into little glowing stasis boxes?

Is there any way to get the items needed to fix the Ultron from the Druuge without trading your crew?
I had some morale issues in selling earthlings to people who like to hang them selfs with chains from the roof.... KWEH!  Sad

I think they'll take a mycon egg shell if you can find an extra one.
6  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: Bugs found so far (linux 0.1 sourceforge sourc on: December 08, 2002, 02:09:24 am

Ok folks.. update to the CVS and recompile.  There are a TON of bug-fixes so far, and you're likely to find many fixes (except the sdl_mixer 1.2.4 thing).

The latest cvs source does seem pretty solid;  however, I have not had a chance to experiment much.  In theory I'm studying for finals.

The bugs already fixed(at least in cvs) show up in the change log.  It's linked to the sticky message at the top of the board.

Thankfully, the BUTTs work well in the cvs version. <g>

- Yehat : dont see subtitles (quite a problem, because i use SDL_mixer 1.2.4, not CVS, so no ogg support)

I'm getting subtitles okay with the linux cvs.

I'm running a patched slack 8.1 system.

I've noticed that sometimes when I load a save game at a planet, the local solar system loads behind the gl planet.

Only seems to happen if it is first load after game starts.
Doesn't crash the game.
Redraws properly after landing.
Looks cool.

Anybody want to take a minute to confirm or deny this against their copy? I did this with the Windows release.

Locks up good with the Linux copy as well.  Although, I'm not sure why you would scatter the fleet and then use the little critter again.

The big problem with Alpha Centauri  is that the planets are really quite hot (you can see the temperature on the left hand side of the scan display, along with the other conditions).
