1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Is Star Control 3 a good game? on: October 18, 2006, 01:05:30 pm
I played Star Control 2 for the 3DO years ago.
It is a great game.
I am thinking of buying the PC game Star Control 3.
I heard that the people who made Star Control 2 didn't design it.
Is it a good game?
Will it run in WinXP?

2  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: I have a 3DO Star Control 2 guide from a 1995 Tips & Tricks magizine. on: October 18, 2006, 07:42:04 am
Here is the guide.
I posted it on Rapidshare.
It is in a zip file and is  5.12MB

http://rapidshare.de/files/37168638/SC2_3DO_Guide.zip.html

The Tips & Tricks Magizine has a 8 pg guide for Snatcher
The Tips & Tricks Magizine has a 5 pg Sega Genesis guide for  Beavis And But-Head.
If anyone is interested in those let me know.
I would have to scan them in and convert them in Photoshop.
3  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: How do I put the 3DO intro ending movies in the game? on: October 18, 2006, 07:24:39 am
I did it!
I couldn't find the CDRWIN program so I downloaded a program called MagicISO.
It saved the iso .
Then I used uncdrom program.
Then I followed the instructions on the Ultronomicon page.
When I started a new game it played the intro movie.

I don't really want to go through all this again.
I might  have to reinstall the game some time in the future.
Can I go into the program files and burn a copy of The Ur-Quan Masters folder to a cd-rom?
Will I have a full version of the game with intro and ending movies?

Where can I get a download of CDRWin?
Do I need to get the CDRWin v3.7a version that is used on the webpage?

6  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / I have a 3DO Star Control 2 guide from a 1995 Tips & Tricks magizine. on: October 15, 2006, 12:23:39 pm
I have a Tips & Tricks magazine from May 1995.
It has a 7 page guide for 3DO Star Control 2 in it with pictures and everything.
Each page somewhere around 786kb
The entire guide is 5.16MB
I emailed it to Toys For Bob.
If anyone wants it.
Tell me how I can upload it to the internet without using email.

I haven't been able to make a iso image because my computer won't even reconize the cd-rom.
It's like there is nothing in the drive.
I have a Pioneer 109 burner.
My computer won't read the 3DO cd-rom.
So I can't make a iso.

8  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / How do I put the 3DO intro ending movies in the game? on: October 15, 2006, 09:26:58 am
I downloaded the Ur-Khan  Masters and  installed it.
It runs fine but doesn't have the 3DO intro and ending movies.
Ultronomicon page says that you can add the intro and victory movies to the game if you have the 3DO game cd.
To do this, you first need to make a .iso file of the CD-ROM, and then run a program called unCD-ROM.
I have the 3DO version of the game but my computer won't read the cd-rom.
I have tried everything and nothing works.
Does anyone have the files I need to put in the game to play the game with the intro and ending?
Is there a website or filesharing place I can get them from?

Interesting info when I played the 3DO version of the game and went to  the Androsynth homeworld  Eta Vulpeculae 2 you can find out part of what happened to them.
