Strange. I have them both!

As you should with v0.3; nothing strange in that.

No, unforturnately the developers are saying the opening and a more complete ending will probably wait for version 1.0.

Wrong. You probably didn't read my response in this thread? Tongue

If only we could get that as "Starbase café"

Ok, it's now Café Smiley

Here is your chance Ace.

Take your flamewars into private if you want, not to this board. You have been warned.

As an unofficial xmas present for forum readers, hereby we grant you this new shiny place meant for discussing anything that is not directly related to UQM. Ho ho ho, and behave well, for unlike Meep-Eep certain other admins have tendency to press big ban button with much less difficulty Wink Thanks to MarkVera for suggesting the name 'Starbase Cafe'.

How about a nicer solution?
Instead of banning his ip, put it is a "warning" list and erase his messege. If he posts again like this, then ban him and ofcourse - erase his post.
Ok?
(like it really matter, they always finds a way to come back)

If he was a member, I might consider that but there's no reason to show mercy for guest trolls.

I edited that offending message and banned him.

Oh, and what, pray-tell, are you fine people so busy with, hmmm? TFBs newset game, perhaps? Details?

We all have been busy with so-called Real Life (tm) which happens to disturb things from time to time. I've been trying to catch up with my studies, which UQM managed to slow a bit too much Wink About rest of the core team, Meep-Eep is having an internship and so on.

Intro/outro slideshows implimented, even temporarialy.

Although it's been stated befoer this wont be in the next release, it's all I really want.

Actually PC intro/ending is quite certainly going to be in 0.4. At least there's nothing blocking implementing it after new XML-based resource system is done, which is one of the planned major refactoring changes for next release.

I've just freshly downloaded and installed UQM for the first time tonight, and am experiencing the exactly described slowdowns. The game will simply pause/freeze every few seconds (for a few seconds).  Needless to say it detracts from the gaming experience! Smiley

I've reproduced similar behaviour (but less severe, the pauses are something like 200-500ms iirc) on my brother's pII-300mhz machine. It might be a new bug introduced somewhere late v0.2x development as I don't remember seeing it around July or so. I suggest you report it to our bug database.

This thread is locked because it's way off topic and indeed, posting DL links of illegal stuff could get us into trouble.

That won't happen, see the mailing list archives for info on this.

We don't know that for sure. I think the last bit I've heard of this was that Fred and Paul were having different opinions of the license (one preferring more 'free' version than other).
28  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Re: Bugs in v3 on: September 16, 2003, 06:48:05 pm
The autopilot bug is described at http://uqm.stack.nl/cgi-bin/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=475 and is already fixed in current CVS. Locking this thread as bug reports should go to Bugzilla, not here.

You sure you have uqm-0.3-content.zip in 'content\packages' dir and the download didn't fail or become corrupt? I can replicate this error message if I remove my content zip. It's trying to copy file 'starcon.key' from that and failing.

When I changed sound quality back to medium, all slowdowns disappeared.
It looks that MOD resampling is more CPU intensive then I thought.

Your computer is way too slow for using high quality sound settings, and that's why UQM defaults to medium which should be enough for most ppl anyway. High quality mode changes resampling to be cubic instead of linear, and enables hqmixer in MikMod which gives somewhat better quality for mod music but requires fast cpu.
