Dont feel stupid, I think the game has a bit of a steep learning curve probably because its rather open. When I first got it, I couldnt understand what to do and I found it so irritating.

Ultimately, what you need are interested and skilled parties. As its your idea, I think you oughta take control at the helm, at least at startup.

From there I think perhaps the best sequence would be:

Develop and refine the story and finish the writing. Find a few people who can emulate the style of SC and start developing the plot, and then the dialogue.

Once a solid plot is developed, you could find some programers to start work on the Mod, creating the things you need.

Finally, youll want to get in some art people to do the visuals and audibles.

Then open it up to testing. So rather than advertising all the positions you need, start with getting some writing done.

I think a whole new game would be good because it would update the game and potentially make it more palatable for a new audience.

However a fanmade game, aimed at current fans, could do very well as a mod.  So ultimatly Id prefer a mod, because it could be made much faster, and retain that retro quality I love.

Id say a legitimate scientist is one who makes use of 'the scientific method'. That is to say, those people who document their research and experimentation and then submit it to peer review wherin the data is reproduced.


Im planning to pick up a new computer around Feb, so I think Ill prolly grab Spore then, it looks like an awesome game.

Very interesting news! An Sc without FF or PR3 wouldnt be the same, thats very true. But I think its possible to get a great game even without their hands in it. Of course if theres a way for them to be involved, Id be super happy!

Okay doing the quiz now, and while I do like the concept....your questions are too, well, obvious. The questions and answer should be a bit vague, not ripped direct from the dialogue. I mean you can guide your answers to your favourite race.
