Well, I've built a small transmission system from all the old junk in my house. So far I've used it to try and get the Kzer-za and the Kohr-ah to be friends. But all that happened was that I got several death threats, the Kohr-ah started a a heated argument with the Kzer-za on all that Doctrine crap, and  finally my hyperwave caster broke. [I hate that thing; it always breaks when I'm in the middle of something]

Next I'm going to try and translate the Orz language, scare the Spathi, and find a fun way to piss off the Vux.

This was right before their big debate on enslaving/killing things for fun.

Hey, heres an idea. Smiley
One of the characters in the story should be a guy who eagerly joined the Vindicator crew and was shortly afterward transfered to an Orz ship. During an ambush by Hierarchy forces [or some other dramatic event] the ship gets separated from the main fleet.

It runs out of fuel, and the poor fellow finds himself stranded in deep space with nothing but Orz for company, and he can't figure out what the hell any of the *fingers* are actually saying.

He can't stand it when  the Orz tell him not to be so *frumple*. He eventually goes insane, and yells at every other member of the ship's crew until he decides that the ship should be blown up. Unknown to the Orz , he finds a way to overload the ship's systems, deactivating everything, including life support. He escapes in an Orz combat suit, but finds out, to his horror, that three of the marines survived. The Orz quickly realize he was responsible and, while screaming *NNNNNNNNGH* in rage, they gun him down with their weaponry.

The flagship arrives at the site a day later [they were searching for the lost Nemesis] and pick up the derelict ship and the remaining Orz, who tell Zelnick what happened. The captain objects to the *dancing*, *dissolving*, and the *sauce*  *enjoyment* that followed [the Orz say that this was the best part], but the Orz threaten to *squeeze the juice*, so he leaves them alone. He sends several subordinates to try and learn more about the incident, but this proves to be as useless as asking the Orz about the Androsynth.

Have the Syreen already asked you to liberate their ships? Or did Talana just ask for proof of the Mycon's activities after you told her? When I played, I learned the info from the Melnorme and told the Syreen all about it and they wanted me to bring them proof before they promised to attack the Mycon. Did you ask the Melnorme?

You guys are probably right about the dreadnought stuff. I apologize if I seemed like a bit of a loudmouth jerk.
Next on the agenda: how do you become part of  #uqm-arena? Or is another thread already devoted to this? Or am I missing something?

 My nickname actually comes from the Mycon. In the game, when you talk to the Mycon[I'm sure you know this already anyway], they have a bunch of little tendrils that wiggle around constantly. These tendrils wiggle in a motion that makes it seem like the Mycon is dancing to the music. Mycon are fungus[sort of], and they dance, hence the name Dancing Fungus.

 Did you know that you can shoot down projectiles coming at you from long range? Did you know that, besides the Utwig, shields suck? Further, I was playing against a human opponent [in retrospect, I should have mentioned this previously], and although I don't know exactly where his skill level falls in the SC2 community, I know he is better than the crappy AI.

Since this is about the Ur-quan's weaknesses, I guess I should mention that its main problem is that it can't defend itself from rear attacks. This is why, for most ships, you keep the gun-end of the dreadnought toward the enemy. Thus, the best way to take the Ur-quan out is to hit it quickly from behind. The Spathi are the best for this, followed by the Utwig. Also, the Orz marines are good for destroying slow targets, like the Ur-quan.

 What are you talking about? I've held out against many ships well with the dreadnought. My tactic is simple: stay put and blast anyone who comes close with fusion bolts. Few ships can withstand a good, well-aimed barrage. Those that do are the Utwig [best destroyed by figthers], the Chmmr [best destroyed by a "shoot and scoot" method] and the Khor-ah[beatable with a long range dual followed by moving in close to launch fighters]. I've also fought the Ur-quan with all three of those ships, and in practice, all ships, if used well, are easily capable of destroying each other. In one battle, where both sides had an even mix of the above ships, the two sides nearly wiped each other out, and the dreadnoughts were just as important to each side's effort as anything else. The Spathi are also very powerful, but they are better at making a battle last a long time than at actually winning.

 You know, I have strange dreams about these things all the time. The most interesting one happened a while ago. A few days before it, I had been playing Earth 2150 [just before I got SC2 from this site] and I couldn't win this one mission. I stopped to play SC2 for the first time and I had much *buttery enjoyment* for about a week. Then I had a dream where I used a slightly different tactic in 2150 and blew away all opposition. The most striking feature of this dream was that there was a Dynarri [God, I hope I spelled it right] sitting on the table of my room, apparently for no real reason, while tried this new technique. When I woke up, I started up Earth 2150, used the same tactic as that in the dream, and it worked! Is this weird or what?
