Have you checked out Project 6014? Even if it is still a demo, there are a few new ships in melee.

The rotating planets and obits are an awesome bonus.
Story is great so far. Great idea having multiple models for conversations.
(I hope more modules will be able to be bought for my main ship in future releases)

Love what you did with it. Just wondering if there is any new content after defeating the Lurg or is it still end there like v0.1? My game keeps crashing there now so I don't know.

Yup, my game crashed after trying to visit the black hole looking thing in Orz space. I guess the ariloo was right, I'm not ready to pass into it.

SC3 works in Dosbox. I've tryed it and had it running awhile ago....... I even had SC2 running in dosbox till I found UQM

DOSBox is a PC emulator: It can run in a window.

1. Download DOSBox installer from http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
2. Install and run it
3. In the window that opens, type "mount c PATH", where PATH is wherever your "SCnot3" files are, for example: "mount c c:\games\starcon3"
4. Enter "c:", and then run "sc3" to start the game

Almost complete.. but missing the cdrom part
do Steps 1-3
4- Type "mount d d:\ -t cdrom  (assuming that d: is your cdrom drive... if not, then mount d ?:\ -t cdrom where ? is your cd drive)
5- then enter "c:" and then run "sc3" to start the game

I blame SCnot3 for this and was very disappointed. Lets all hope that SC3 will set things straight.

That's not the original map, that's the "Deluxe Map of HyperSpace", included with the hint book and Star Control Collection. In any case, the PoNaF SC2 files section has what you need and more.

I guess that's what it was... but I didn't get the hint book, only the map. I still have the cd, might even have the Star Control Collection box somewheres, I'd have to look around for it.

no... the original on paper had all the sites of interest marked differently. normal stars were just circles, stars that had interest in it (like artifacts, rainbow worlds or home worlds) had lines around the circle like a sun. The map was only black and white.

Came in handy to look at while in-game... It was the size of a poster.

Then a few years ago... I wanted to play Sc2 again, I even had it running on DOS Box before UQM showed up. But with the speech packs and 3DO videos, UQM caught my interest more than the original.
