I'm at the sa matra.  The Pkunk and Yehat have come to my rescue but I can't shoot out the red thingies with the Pkunk.  They keep getting blown away even though I resurrect them lots.  Does someone have a video of how to do this?  Hey Shiver?  I've seen your ship to ship videos.  It seems like most of the people posting have finished the game a bunch of times and are now only  interested in techy things.  I just want to finish the game.  Help!

Met Orz and I think I got them to join the Alliance but when I tried to land on Delta IIC they told me to go Gamma.  I agreed to be a Camper but didn't do any good. 

While I have your attention, what do they mean by campers, parties, playground etc?

I redefined the keys and the left control is now fire but  the left alt is still not the special key but now acts as escape.  I  tried to redefine the special key as the left shift but it didn't work.  If you have a stun key you see a ray being fired, right?  I don't see anything and the critters keep killing me. 

I tried to copy the key edit file and the particular save game but I couldn't paste them into this post.  I was able to paste the dos lines but is that what you want?  I would guess the save game file would fill a large space if I pasted it into this post.  Anyway, let me know if you want me to do that or tell me how to paste the files here.

Sorry I seem to be such a klutz.  I have been able to get around in dos, unix and all the previous windows but I guess I've just run out of brain power for Vista.

I checked my profile today and found that I was listed as an employee of Zebranski Foods.  Where is my paycheck?  Why are all the other people on this forum also employees of ZF and why don't I know them if they are

Is this some sort of conspiracy?  Is ZF trying to blame us for for its poisoning people with their food or are we on the waiting list for a position?

I played SC for a few hours and found it unhandy to use the default fire keys and wanted to start again anyway so I started  a new game and redefine the keys.  I used the left control and left shift for the fire and special functions but when I started  the game I had no fire power at all.  I then quit and set them back to the default right control and shift keys  and still had not fire power.  I rebooted and tried again with the same result.  When I went back to an old save game I did have weapons. 

I want to start a new game with the left keys as the fire buttons.  Am I doing something wrong?  I'm running Vista on a laptop.

Me again.   I tried again and it installed.  I played SC about 20 years ago and loved it.  When my husband found the ur-quan free game he didn't know it was the old SC game when he downloaded it for me.  Wow was I surprised  when I realized it was the old game and I spent hours searching through my desk drawers and sundry papers for the detailed notes (log) I made eons ago.  I thought I still had the old software too but I guess I threw everything out because the software wouldn't run on any machine we have. 

Great work people to bring back the good old games that most of the new ones can't compare to.  Thanks. 

I just got an Acer 6920G notebook and am trying to install SC2.  The intall program stopped about half way through and an error message allowed me to try again.  It appeared to be continuing the install but shortly it stopped again and I had to ctrl/alt/del to clear the screen.  Is there a problem installing on a Vista machine?  I had no problem installing it on my old Toshiba running XP.
