1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: time mod/de cleansing mod on: May 03, 2011, 04:07:15 pm
Thanks. If I use the De Cleansing mod and get far into the game, at some point can I discontinue use of the exe for that mod and begin re using the original exe? Will the game then pick up where I would have been in a modless game? That's a pretty heavy thought, but maybe possible?
2  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / time mod/de cleansing mod on: May 03, 2011, 02:24:16 am
I want to explore the game without worrying about the time limit, but I'd still like the game to progress as it is supposed to at some point. I see the links for the mods a few posts down, but wonder about which would be better? I am thinking  the de-cleansing mod would be better?

Also, is there a way or a mod to make the colors for the materials you pick up easier to differentiate? Thanks
3  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Tips for Ilwrath on: July 09, 2009, 05:01:01 am
I'm a brand new player and read it was good to practice against Ilwrath and Slylandro in Super Melee. I could use some tips for my Earth cruise vs the Ilwrath! I get my butt kicked on the lowest difficulty!

Thank you!!  Grin

Thanks Novus. The fact that I don't understand anything you just said suggests to me that I do not need the .diff file. I assume this is for people who compile game files and whatnot; not a simple Joe like me who merely downloaded the game and only wants to play.  Huh (without a time limit)  Wink

Kohr-Ah, I installed the zip file to the main game folder and run the game from there. But what is the .diff  patch file? Do I need it for a Windows install? Thanks

Are there any drawbacks to using this mod? I am a new player that spazzes out at time constraints.

Btw - what is the date that the game ends in normal mode?

Thank you for helping! Grin

Can someone help a new player set the graphics as nicely as possible? I just downloaded the game and read the manual. I'm not sure if I need to enable Open GL or not, or how to do the command line.  Undecided

Do I even need to enable Open GL via the command line in the current version? 0.6.2
