I'm looking for info on how to find/translate/convert files (specifically music) from the original Star Control 2 3DO disc.  I have already made an .iso, and used un-cdrom to separate out the files, but I can't find most of the music, and what I can find is in a format I can't listen to.  Please help!

I just installed the newest release of UQM, and downloaded all the content .zips, but the 3do music .zip is curiously small.  Checking the main content zip, I found that the only other music included is the original PC mod format.  What happened to all the other 3do music?  It used to be there for everything, not just the melee and a few space areas, but also for all the conversations.  I don't really care about the new remixes right now, I just want to know where to find the rest of the original 3do music files.  Any help?

I don't know about the original PC version, but in the 3do version once the bridge turned purple when you began trading with the Melnorme, it started and stayed purple for every encounter after that.

Try adjusting the threshold value.  I use 1000, and my Sidewinder gamepad USB works fine.  I'm one of those darned 3do purists who needs a gamepad to feel he has the authentic Star Control experience, so when they added the key config file I jumped for joy.

Anyone ever tried looking for unusual or rare planet types or formations?  Just for fun, especially if you already know the solutions and are ready to kill the Sa-Matra in 2157, you might want to keep the game going for a while.
For example, I found a gas giant at Zeta Sextanis II which has what I believe is the biggest storm in the galaxy on it.  It takes up about a quarter of the planet.  Very impressive.  
Anyone else find anything unusual out there (not plot related)?

I've tried the most recent release of Dosbox on WinXP, and managed to get both Star Control and Star Control II to work with sound.  There has been a little skipping in SC2, but other than that they both work.  I had to use the /g:bios switch with SC2 to get the screen colors to stay correct.

I have both the PC and 3do versions of SC2, and I've seen several programs which make random team .mle files for the old PC version, but the re-release .mle files are a completely different format.  Since I doubt that the great beings in charge of UQM will change the format for us, I was wondering if someone could make either a) a conversion program to take old SC2 .mle team files and spit out new UQM .mle files, or b) a new version of one of the old programs, to give us new random teams in the correct format.  I know there's one that makes random fleets, but it puts them in the melee.cfg file, and doesn't save them as separate fleets.

Just compiled latest CVS source, started new game, and tried to rename default ship and captain.  I can't make capital letters anymore.  Neither shift key does it, and Caps-lock just makes a dash -.  This also seems to affect Space Melee, as I could not use capital letters in my fleet names, either.  I know the controls have changed somewhat, and are now configurable via a .key file in the content dir, but I can't figure this one out.  Any suggestions?
