Personally, I hate the voices. The Orz just aren't as creepy when they all sound like humans.

I'm glad I decided not to bother installing them for my first playthrough.

The first fight can be tough, since SC2 dates back to an age before tutorials were a thing.

I remember on my first playthough, I died before I even saw the Illwrath ship, since I was still trying to figure out the interface. It might be nice if that combat started out paused, with a reminder of the controls.

Here is some non-spoiler advice: there are two types of star ships which are by far plain superior to anything else you will get. One can easily destroy a Dreadnought or a Marauder and the other can destroy every other type of ship. They are the Eluder and the Terminator. I won't tell you which races give them, but they are the MOST powerful ships in the game by far, in my opinion (I haven't  used the Avatar yet.)


The Eluder is nice, but in my experience, nothing beats the Juggers for defeating the Urquan on the final mission. They're especially good against the AI controlled Kor Ah. Just fly straight up to them and tank their weapons with your shield while holding down the fire button. It could be that I just suck with the other ships, but they were far more effective than anything else I tried.

Well they obviously couldn't use the constellation names for the actual stars they represent because stars that happen to look closer together from Earth have no relation in space.

I was referring to explaining potential issues with the Arilou and Orz being together at the starbase. For that matter, you could theoretically have Syreened!VUX crew there as well. Though maybe they'd be tolerated if they agree not to ask silly questions.

Maybe you could claim that the stored ships are in suspended animation to explain away potential issues with the captains.

Maybe there could be some special piece of information that lets you buy Probes from the Melnorme at a steep discount (i.e. with an achievable number of credits)?

What parts of the planet generation code did P6014 modify? If it's just the seed, then it might be worthwhile to rewrite the planet generation in Python or something. That way you can play with different seeds and see the results, without having to recompile UQM every time.

The red parts on the podship look more like plastic than lava to me. But otherwise, very impressive!

They could take the cover off temporarily. And then irradiate the bones to deactivate any bacteria that snuck in.
