Oh, wow. Things seemed so hopeless just a few years ago, not only for Star Control, but also for space sims in general. Now, so much good has happened since then that I cannot even keep track of it all! We had the Star Control reboot made by Stardock, Star Control HD, Project 6014, and now we may be seeing an official sequel, made explicitly for fans like us?

I for one would be thrilled by a Star Control 2 total conversion mod for Galactic Civilizations 2. Those are two of my favorite games of all time!

"Captain, the Orz and Arilou ships have placed themselves on opposite sides of the starbase, and we can feel them glaring at one another right through us. The Arilou insisted that I pass on their warning that the Orz are not to be trusted and that we should break off alliance with them immediately for our own safety, while the Orz on the station have been stomping around in a huff muttering things about wanting to 'dance' with the 'quick babies' that are 'jumping in front'. Why they'd want them as dance partners when they obviously hate each other, I don't know. Maybe it's one of those love-hate things?"

That really sounds like something Hayes would say, actually.

Maybe you could claim that the stored ships are in suspended animation to explain away potential issues with the captains.

That's a bit of a cop-out.

Well let's think, the following I think are the most important attributes a Spathi could have according to their line of thinking and our conversations with them

The Ability to protect themselves (The Shell from the clam)
The Ability to hide (I would argue that clams hide themselves in the sand but let's assume this is a Dravatz trait)
The Ability to run (That must be a Dravatz trait)
To be rich, powerful and surrounded with women and weapons to fend off any attackers that may hurt their paradise (Clearly they learned this trait from me)

So assuming that last trait is based on me and was mentioned by accident, and assuming the Dravatz are not a sea life form like the clam. It is likely a fast and clever creature that is skilled at evading predators with a thin body and small stature.

I would think the shell to be one of the best qualities of the clam, as it helps it defend itself. The Spathi do not appear to have shells, though.

That has got to be it, right? No one can possibly achieve this level of stupidity under natural circumstances. I simply refuse to believe it. Either darthinvaderzim is trolling, or he has suffered a terrible head injury. I can think of no other logical explanation to his irrational behavior.

I have one memory from when I was 3. I was running in circles. That's about it. It is not much of a memory, but at least it's something.

Star Control 2 also had a non-standard game over, but it was fairly obvious. You just have to talk to the Ur-Quan and surrender. I did that once.

Star Control 2 is a cult classic! I think it could work.
