1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / problem with CVS? on: December 03, 2002, 12:24:35 am
howdy.

I just downloaded the latest CVS, and I was wondering... is there a reason it generates no binaries?

I did "build.sh uqm", and then changed the install directory to a directory in my home directory, that didn't exist.

it failed to create the directory,  and install files.

I then created the directory myself, as well as the bin and lib directories inside it.

I tried reinstalling to no avail. Any help? (also, does the fact that it gives you install directories that are initially global mean that you now have all the save files and whatnot sometwhere in the home directory?)

I'd have to say that mine was the Melnorme Trader. Unfortunately, I've gotten out of practice with it... time to get back in. : )

Just a couple quick questions:

A) are you all planning on changing the format of the save file? I.e., will a saved game from last week's CVS snapshot work on next month's?

B)  (for linux) Any plans on making some sort of .sc dealy in a user's home directory, so that this glorious program can be installed in some global place, so all users can have access, and their own save files at the same time?

muchas gracias!
