1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Growing Crew on: January 01, 2004, 10:48:02 am
As was mentioned by someone else, you originally have a cap of 2000 extra crew.  However, once you ressurect the Shofixti, I'm pretty sure the limit dissapears and crewmen become cheaper.  Those furry devils must be procreating their brains out...

I scanned the FAQ.  I don't have time to leaf through complex legal documents like that all day. Wink

4  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / The Mycon-Syreen Quest on: December 06, 2003, 05:12:38 am
I've just convinced the Syreens to join the Aliance, and now I'm supposed to go to the Mycon homeworld to lure them into a trap.

They're homeworld is in Beta Brahe, right?  I keep going there and I have the option to tell them about the trap, but I just get a message to leave the planet.  Is there something that I've forgotten, or is this just another bug?

Tis good to be back on the forum in spite of the fact that probably no one remembers me.

Then, the Slylandro transcend and become half-mad beings of pure energy hell bent on destroying the universe.  That was the best ending ever...

I'll say one thing about HHGttG and move on.  Mostly Harmless sucks.  It sucks almost as much as the end of Resteraunt at the End of the Universe.

Moving on, I just finished reading Vernor Vinge's Fire upon the Deep and Deepness in the Sky.  This is probably the greatest science fiction I have ever read in my life.  The worst part of it was that 7 years seperated the completion of both works, and Deepness was written in '99(God give me the strength to stand the wait).

Sherkaner Underhill Lives!

I don't think that joining a Thraddash mercenary unit would be a very condusive to "longevity".

But regarding the question, I would probably go along with the good old stand-by: space piracy.  I'd save up to buy a Probe from the Melnorme and set up shop in a nice spot of Galaxy.  After the Probe created enough copies of itself, I would direct them to disable any ships that came within range.  Then I would go mad with power.

I got the complete HHGttG as a Christmas present last time and I was disappointed.  The quality of the books was really uneaven.  The original and Life, the Universe and Everything were hilarious (all the good quotes come from the first book).  So Long and Thanks for all the Fish was pleasent but amusing points were few and far between.  The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and Mostly Harmless just sucked.

Mostly Harmless didn't make any sense from the opening pages where we are told that Arthur's girlfriend vanished somehow to the end where a pelican computer manages to have all the Earths in all the parallel universes destroyed somehow.

Well even in SC3 Version 1, they were included. I seriously doubt in Version 2 they'll be excluded, given how vital most players consider Fwiffo to the whole plot of the game.

Oh, I've never played SC3.  How did they get the Spathi to come out of their shield?
13  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / The Spathi on: May 14, 2003, 12:43:39 pm
In the hypothetical SC3 v2.0, I think that the Spathi should be included somehow.  They were always my favorite aliens(Fwiffo's monlogue on Pluto is probably the funniest moment of the game.)

14  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: what would you call it? on: May 03, 2003, 03:17:11 am
I think a prequal would be a great idea.  The Ur-Quan are such cool bad guys that it would be a pity to lose them.

"Toys for Bob presents:  The Crucible of Sentience."

(Even though it was an odd title for a war, seeing as the Ur-Quan won and the Alliance of Free Stars failed.)

It's fair that the Arilou don't give a crap about the Androsynth, seeing as how they're just an invention that backfired (with many flaws no doubt), but what's wrong with the Syreen? Shouldn't they be just as valuable to the Arilou as us humans?
