The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Ship editing and Graphics

This might not be related to the ongoing topic directly, but this has something to do with ship editing.
Back in the 90s, I recall having some sort of an editor on SC2, which gave access to some basic functions of the ships (namely the crew, battery, recharge rate, speed, rate of fire, damage per hit, etc.). I made minor changes to see whether their functionality would be grossly greater. One was reducing the Orz Nemesis' main weapon's power consumption to 4 (instead of 6) and increasing the speed of the Earthling Cruiser to the same level of an Ur-Quan Dreadnought. Especially with the latter modification, frankly said, the humans would have won the war. Without question. Even against the Kohr-Ah. (Also, a Chmmr Avatar with a much greater turning rate was hilarious to play with, but not against.)
However, I'm intrigued whether anyone else here has encountered this little piece of old software. Since it was so long ago, I can't remember any name given to the program (if it even had any).

The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Least favorite ship?

Least favorite .. let's see...
Kohr-Ah Marauder. A real douche to fight, since only some few selected ships are good enough to destroy it without getting their own arses kicked badly. But when I'm in control, it becomes a mockery of a ship.
Umgah Drone ... a computer controlled opponent is ridiculously good with it. Not a single human player could make it a weapon of any sort.
Supox Blade .. it's boring. It has a pea gun. That's it.

Arne: Yes, Freespace 2 is probably the best space-simulation game ever made. (see, it's a sequel of an equally good game, just like Star Control!) It's way too hard to find any good picture of the Shivan juggernaut, Sathanas, since the ship is black and the space is black, too (or filled with reb nebulae). Here you can find it with other ships too to compare. Update: Okay, this is too, but it's, as I said, black on rather black space with some red nebulae.

The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: My Music, thank you VOiD!

Fortunately, your works are NOT bad. I've stumbled to so many crappy "Look at me, I've made music" -persons, whose music really sucks, but no one has the heart to tell him/her that. Astro-Sombrero is fun. You should work on it and make it have a constant drum beat at some point. (And if you can keep it approx. 1:30, I can make it Stepmania.)
