I've just skimmed through this thread.
You must remember that different people come from different time zones. Meaning that while some are online, other's are not.

Consider the implication for either game idea (SC2 like, SC1 like or empire building games).
Would you like someone else to play you're ship/empire/whatever for you?

In the PC version I always thought it's a city.
The 3DO picture looks more like a ship (but ugly ship IMO).

1) In SC3 the flagship you had was supposed to be the MK2, even if it didn't look like the picture at the end of SC2 (BTW, until I was introduced into the online community of SC I was sure that was just a future city, not the MK2 itself).
And yes, according to SC3 the MK2 was build by zelnick using the Precursor factory on Unzervult. A factory that even if somehow it wasn't destroyed nor detected by the Ur-quan, it still doesn't have it's main computer, because the computer was connected to the MK1 (the first flagship). Go figure...

2) Only people who had precursor ships with the warp bubble transport system could travel between stars in SC3. The player had one, and the Crux had one.
The Vux got around by collaborating with the Crux, being the sneaky weasels scum they are. Smiley

3) At the end of SC2 the kinds ask, "how did you FIND the MK2?"

4) Zero^, according to SC3 Zelnick was returned to his own time shortly after being thrown to the future. In the future he saw the EternalOne win, and the collapse of hyperspace. That's why he returned to Unzervult and did all he did.

Now I have a question of my own:
If some sequel will have a MK2 not like what P&F suggested (and yet not sucky like SC3), what will you do? Smiley

I'm not sure you can say that Humanity have an enemy to unite against. They already lost the war, I think it was the time for desperation and blaming people. Uniting is what they did before that. Smiley

NATO would keep Earthling Cruisers as peacekeeping ships?!
Space ships equipped with Nuclear weapons?!
I don't think it's logical, especially as it seems that the Ur-quan didn't want the Humans to continue to build cruisers. (That's why people had to make secret copies of the plans).

But this seems like the easiest "problem" to solve: People made copies of the plans and after order was restored they were used to build more cruisers in preparations for leaving the shield.
I guess there were projects trying to crack the shield.

But how did people reach order from the cause that came with the shield?

This is why I said cults, most of humanity won't believe that the Ur-quan are gods, only the people Pirmat know Wink

But I didn't start this thread just to name all the bad things that could've happened under the shield.
How do you think the Humans managed it all? We know that at the end they even had Cruisers ready to leave the surface as fast as the shield went down.

Let's write a story, a future history.

If the Pets won't be Psychic anymore they won't be able to translate the Ur-quan.
Of course, I still say that if the Ur-quan would learn that the Pets can regain their sentience in any way, they would exterminate them.

But would they believe you if you told them?
