1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Technical Issues / Comm text alignment on: December 16, 2004, 12:01:07 pm
Anyone know where the comm baselines, text alignment, etc. came from?  It isn't in the original 3do source, but it does seem to be in the initial SF commit.  Was this stuff added by TFB before releasing UQM as open source?

Also, I recently updated the board software. After that, everyone would have to relogin (but once if you have cookies enabled, and those cookies are stored).

I was wondering why all the "new" icons were gone.  I never noticed I wasn't logged in.

Well, the stylus is awesome.  I didn't trust developers to use it well after what I saw at E3, but they did a great job on Mario (the only game I've played).
I think that's the best part, but the dual screens, powerful hardware, microphone, and wireless are also all new things to the handheld console world, and it will be interesting to see how well they are used.

By the way, the UQM music sounds great on the DS.

Darn. I was just going to ask about a DS port as a joke.  What's with people posting these game related topics to the Starbase Cafe anyways?

I'd try turning off the sound and playing around with the frameskip and cpu speed options.

You mean you don't look like a green Pkunk?

Hmm.  I was just about to ask why people always make software just for windows.  Then I remembered that I usually write all my stuff in Cocoa.  Hehe.

What? Now it's your thread, and pillow fights are good? Are you feeling ok?

Agent Smith: Not quite accurate. Fwiffo tells you the secret cypher right after your lander comes back. One could blow him away and still be allowed to speak to the High Council.

But what if they never find Fwiffo?

I thought it was funnier than your avatar.

I'm not saying that's the reason, just evidence that the authors used the nickname starcon

and Star Control was always officially called "Star Control" -- StarCon is a totally unofficial nickname. It only actually became a game name when they decided to call Star Control 4 that to make it sound cooler.

Wasn't the executable named starcon2.exe?

I do believe the answer to Zeep's is an umbrella.

The answer to number one is "You will burn me at the stake." The cannibals don't know if he's telling the truth or lying, because he's judging his own fate. They didn't make room for that in their twisted plot, so they let him go.

But by burning him at the stake his statement becomes true.  If, however, he says he will be boiled in a huge pot of water, the conditions cannot be met.
