1  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: A campaign for a new Star Control on: December 07, 2009, 05:26:11 am

You brought up a good point, I've played the demo of Star Trek DAC and it appears to be a complete rip-off what the Time Warp project started off as all those years ago.

How's that for influencing the market? I guess even trekies visit fan-sites of other worlds within the genre Wink

Brainless games like DAC don't need any plot, it's 100% action-oriented and plot only slows it down. However space exploration games require a good storyline and character/faction interation that is more than just identical interacts with different words, it needs heart, personality. So allow TBH true the masters of dialouge make a sequel or even a prequel ( time and location of the first docturnial war could be a start) to SC2. Because in this genre plot and storytelling is everything.

Devoted fans like myself have waited over 15 years for a new addition, once the ball gets rolling, what's another year or two for development to us?

That is true, some anti-virus software does attemp to detect
unknown viruses. However, I've found this feature tends to be
very buggy and issues a lot of false errors. Especially with
older programs. Norton I recall was terrible for this.

If my memory is accurate Norton only really had these errors when you tried to install/uninstall something, which fits under the category of suspicious behavior. Back to the point has there ever been a Windows XP application that didn't nag and harass you with text bubbles and/or error messages? (It's a serious question I just doubt that the answer is yes.)

TERMINATOR-The Obnoxious One

SC3 was a blatant attempt for accolade to mooch off of the Star Control name and fan base, don't get it. I spent 10 years playing SC2 and about 2 months on SC3, you do the math.

Terminator enters yelling "Vile swine, thou shalt die for starting a fight without thee." pulls out the Obliterator(A pillow as thick and as dense as Zanthius' posts) and hurls it a Necro at supersonic speeds, which he narrowly evades, demolishing the wall behind him.

Celebrities protest things, makes people quite soft. However my state New York plays second-fiddle to them, you won't find a dumber or softer population unless you go to California. Speaking of idiots in California, get a load of this http://www.reopen911.org/.

Some idiot in California is trying to convince New Yorkers that 9-11 was created by the government, in order to boost the economy via war requiring the building of weapons of war, which is a bit far-fetched, let alone for New Yorkers to accept, I never seen such ridiculous logic, since Monty Python.
8  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: The John Kerry/George W. Bush thread on: November 02, 2004, 07:43:49 pm
It's been reported that there were voting machines here in New York(city) that have been found to have hundreds of votes(per machine) allready on them before the election(unspecifyed for whom). The Republician party is appealing for this machines to be impounded. It is unlikely the republicians are responsible since their support here is unbearably low.
9  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: wav files on: October 22, 2004, 01:08:05 pm
I said this before they are in the content zip file(win version) as wav. files. All the combat sound effects. It is organized(thank god) go into the race you waant to see they are labeled primary and secondary.wav and are on the bottom(WinZip and RAR). some races have more than two effects and are unique titles. Example "launch fighters" is under urquan/secondary.wav where as the effect for getting them back is titled urquan/fighter_get.wav. On the original version of SC2 it was embedded in the executable, so it is likely that it is only useable on the cpu version.

What counts in my opinion, is that the one I'm voting for is a good man. I don't know anything about Kerry, I just know that Bush is lower than dirt, so personally I'd like to see someone else in charge.

That is the most dangerous idea of all, you would elect a man whose ordinates hated him to a point where he had to be relocated far from Vietnam to the Coast of California as opposed to a man of character who has proven he has the ability to lead.

And lets disprove the biggest liberal-left-wing lie of them all "Bush is an idiot" he's far from stupid, in comparision to Kerry, who complained that the terror-alert system (which is color-coded) is too complicated(green good, red bad difficult concept Huh). Kerry would bring the war on terror to a screeching halt, why two conflicting ideals.
1. Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time.
2.Requires a united coalition of forces.

If you harp about #1 what kind of lunatic leader would comitt any kind or miltary aide to #2?

Finally one of Kerry's statements offended me "In New York(city) one out every two African-American Males are unemployed." As a native New Yorker I know this to be untrue, when I pass through Jamiaca, Queens I don't see people on the street, and I frenquently pass through at 3 or 4 in the morning I would see illegal acts or non-legit jobs taking place if, any of that statement is true a majority of them are working "off-the books."

NOTE: I must apologize for my horendous writing(errm.. typing) as written english is my fatal flaw.

I really do despise Krock all they play in punk rock with an occaisional good song in the mix.Ten years ago this was an entirely different story, you can be in a punk rock band too, simple procedure, remove lyrics from a classic rock song, speed it up and finally sing with your testicles in a vice(with the exception of Green Day of course). Anyway I've heard it before trying to something good on the radio that wasn't it, far too depressing.

Hell, when Clinton was busy getting "serviced", the Dow Jones was going UP. We don't need a president. We just need someone who's willing to get a hummer every now and then. And I think I'll be the right person for the job.

Thank you Lewis Black, let's try and be original. The reason for that was the dot.com boom. Internet-based businesses spawned all over the place, at the final 6-months of Clitin's(intentional spelling) term the economy began to tank (the dot.com bust) when the ecnomy spikes that drastically it's only a matter of time before it falls. Your boy John Kerry is planning on correcting the debt by raising taxes mainly on the middle-class and small business, does this make any sense to you? Small businesses and the middle class are the workforce. Anyone with half a brain will realize that this is a sure-fire way to kill the economy. You people support a corrupt party without integrity, didn't you ever wonder where Gore's 1000+ votes discovered in Florida actually came from? John Kerry believes that the war on terror should be handled the same way the war on drugs is handled to "bring to a point where it's only a nuisance" this is a stupid idea when dealing with people who believe it is the will of god to exterminate every man, woman and child who lives in a free society. If Kerry miraculously gets elected the expression "Common sense isn't all that common" will have an entirely different weight.

I know I said I wouldn't post on this thread again, but recent events have been quite "taxing" and has pissed me off beyond belief.

I'd like to see souped up "boss" ships on the enemy side in these Arcade modes. Like a Super Mycon Podship that has a glowing aura around it that can shrug off 50% of the damage you do and regenerates energy a little faster.

Wrong SC this is Star Control not StarCraft.
15  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: they don't make them like they used to on: September 14, 2004, 11:02:36 am
the GBC versions of Dragon Warrior 1-3 did NOT capture their former glory, primarily due to the fact that it was dumbed, down Experience and Gold values were increased(from defeating monsters, yet level up points and equiptment prices remained the same.) the Zelda re-make would have been more desirable had they painted it gold as well.
