I'm not able to load the website linked in the first post. Is this just me?

You could try the direct link:

That's quite awesome.  I can't wait to listen to these tracks.

Me neither! I can hardly remember any of these!
3  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Precursors, Precursors where art thou? on: June 12, 2010, 03:12:52 am
Sorry for dragging this old thread back out of the mud, but I feel some explanation is required. Tongue

Like TiLT said, the Precursors team hasn't really kept in touch for a long while. I guess real life took precedence and some team members lost interest/patience, and before you know the months and years fly by.

Personally I haven't really thought a lot about the Precursors project for ages, and except for the occasional pang of annoyance at leaving a job unfinished I've mostly devoted my creative time and energies to real life band activity. Lately I've returned to the solitary composing routine again though, releasing some stuff on my Trax in Space page (though the site itself is in rigor mortis) every once in a while. No new remixes have been attempted for quite some time, though, so completing the final remix pack is a long way away in any scenario. I guess leaving some of the most difficult and anticipated tracks for last wasn't the best of ideas.  Undecided

Time to pwn this thread with a picture of my cat:

I live in what you might call an upscale suburban neighbourhood, full of nice gardens and greenery. One of the most popular trees in said gardens is lilac. Just a couple of days ago they burst into bloom, and it's one of the most wonderful smells known to man, at least to this man.
6  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Trainer in the Making on: May 19, 2007, 10:03:41 am
AFAIK the word "trainer" can also refer to flight simulator used in e.g. pilot's training programs.

Perhaps it's possible that the use of the word is derived from there? In essence, a trainer is a machine/game that allows the operator to play without risk of harm or injury?

EDIT: also, in sports games, you can usually play in "training" mode, outside any matches or tournaments.
7  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Webcomics on: August 21, 2006, 07:49:57 pm
The only webcomic I read on anything resembling a regular basis is Sexy Losers. Pity it won't be updated anymore. Sad

Just thought I'd bring this to attention:

LucasArts' web site Terms of Use

5. Submissions.
LucasArts' company policy does not allow it to accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions, or materials other than those it has specifically requested. Accordingly, we must request that no visitors to this Site, or any venue or web site governed by these Terms of Use, submit or send any original creative materials, including but not limited to submissions of scripts, story lines, fan fiction, characters, drawings, information, suggestions, ideas or concepts. If at our request you send certain specific submissions (e.g., postings to chats, surveys, message boards, contests, or similar items) or, despite our request that you not send us any other creative materials, you send us creative suggestions, ideas, notes, drawings, concepts, or other information (collectively the "Submissions") shall be deemed and shall remain the property of LucasArts in perpetuity. By making any Submission, the sender automatically grants, or warrants that the owner of such material expressly grants, LucasArts the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute such material (in whole or in part) throughout the universe and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology now known or hereafter developed, for the full term of any copyright, trademark or patent that may exist in such material for any purpose that LucasArts chooses, whether internal, public, commercial, or otherwise, without any compensation, credit or notice to the sender whatsoever. 9  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Orz translated to D&D on: April 07, 2006, 03:12:50 am
Hehe, pretty interesting stuff. I particularily like the way the "magical armour" perfectly illustrates Arthur C Clarke's third law: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguisable from magic'". Cheesy
10  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Is this game any good? on: April 03, 2006, 11:49:21 pm
Personally, I find it easiest to compare SC2 to the Fallout games; they're very much alike in many respects

There is also a non-gameplay similarity: in both cases, the first two games were excellent, but the third instalment really brought things to a standstill.
11  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Graphic Enhancement Thread on: March 21, 2006, 03:55:29 pm
I'll definitely second that comment; this is great-looking stuff! I particularily like the sleekness of the Chmmr and VUX ships.  Cheesy
12  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: Homeworld Fleets on: March 20, 2006, 10:58:42 pm
Yep, trying to beat a homeworld fleet is a perfect exercise in futility. However, it can make for an interesting competition among friends; ie. how many ships do you manage to kill off before you're blasted into oblivion. Cheesy
13  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: In-School fight clubs on: March 06, 2006, 11:23:33 pm

14  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / Starbase Café / Re: Enlightened! on: March 06, 2006, 02:49:13 am
damn, when I registered here for the first time It was really at an early stage, just too bad I probably lost the nick&password, then again when I searched for the possible nick on the member list I didn't find anything, oh well.
I may just be making this up, but wasn't the member list 'cleansed' at some point; ie. registered users with 0 posts deleted? Or am I thinking about some other forum?

and now I'm feeling bad and ashamed to even put my name in this noble thread.
well, at least I know what to strive for...
How about doing like Censored suggests, strive for quality rather than quantity? Wink
15  The Ur-Quan Masters Re-Release / General UQM Discussion / Re: ~Lost it... on: March 04, 2006, 08:12:51 am
Haha! Wonderful! That absolutely made my day!

You know, you're quite an accomplished artist. I sure wouldn't mind seeing more SC related stuff, and I just KNOW I'm not alone in that respect around here. Wink

Keep up the good work!
