I made a topic on the Aftermath forum about this, which is still up, but it's extremely inactive. I know there's another topic about the game here, but it's really old.
I tried to check the Aftermath website the other day, but it gave me a not found error. Does anyone know what's going on?

It looks great... cept the fact that it's going to be a MMO. I'm not going to get into MMOs cause they're money vacuums. I don't think my computer can handle it anyway.   
 I wish someone would do something like this for a console game, though... or at least a PC game that's not a MMO. It could turn out great and you wouldn't have to deal with jackasses and hackers. Video game companies need to follow the example set by this game!

Will I be able to play off-line, or is this game only online ?

Although i'm currently developing Infinity as an MMO, I plan to release a special version to play and train off-line. Most of the features will be fully available in that version.

Yeah, that will be a little confusing. It's a nice name, though. 

I played this game for a few days a while ago.

I'll probably get a Wii soon after it comes out, but I won't be getting a PS3 for probably a long time... after a price drop or two... or three... or four. You get the point.

Well, at least it's 100s of times better than being put to death. If I were him, I'd leave that damn country and never return. His family doesn't seem to care enough about him, so why should he bother coming back?

Is there any reliable news on whether the US version of SR2 has Starforce? If not, someone please post an update once you get the game.

I think it's a great idea! It would be of great help to new UQM players. (obviously) 

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's hard to keep up with all the upgrades. I just use a laptop as my main computer though... which isn't as upgradeable. And guesst is exactly right about Starforce. The stupid program is actually encouraging the thing it's trying to stop. It's just stupid.

UQM 0.5.0 has a built-in star finder.

I like the idea of trying to implement both crew & hit points in a second official version of UQM. But for the first version that should be as close as possible to the original, it should probably stay as crew.

What if after 1.0 2 official versions were maintained? One being the version as close to the original as possible, and the other which focused on fixing the flaws in the game and improving gameplay. IMHO having a multitude of spin-offs will probably amount to nothing more than a few failed attempts at drastic gameplay change (due to the work involved) and a large number of projects which make very small gameplay changes (think duct tape mod for doom3) which no one will care about.

I think that it would be wise to make a secound *official* branch (like 'UQM 2X') after most of the work has been done leading up to 1.0. Sure, gameplay and balance would need to be changed, and the game may end up looking completely different, but it would provide replayability for vets, keep devs interested in coding, and very likely make a great game a true masterpeice by fixing the flaws that it admitably has in it.

I agree completely. 2 official versions would be best. One would be closest to the original as possible and the other would be newer versions with enhanced gameplay features. This is probably the best way to go.

I'm going to wait for the US version to be released with the hopes that it won't have StarForce. Is this a useless hope, or is there really a chance?
