Multiplayer is not on the horizon for UQM... try Timewarp? (the general discussion FAQ has the link)

... while I'm at it...

The planet being hidden makes NO SENSE... but then again so do physical speed limits and non-inertially-released weapons. It is possible to work out where the planet is -- I have a pretty solid idea of where it is about half the time it's off screen, a feat gained by practice.

I do think a switch would be nice to have eventually, but it is about the bottom of the priority heap.

About the Ilwrath thing (for those of you that were being serious about hating it's guts): They're easy to find. Watch the starmap about halfway between you and the edge of the map. You'll notice stars dissapearing and reappearing. Blow that section of space to dust. Fav. fights: ZFP vs. Ilwrath: I cleaned out the Ilwrath homesystem with two ZFP ships, just because.

Oh right. Y'know, I actually forgot about Timewarp. Embarrassed
(No, I meant..! wait..! not in the face! Lips Sealed)

Well, it's a little easier to hit a cloaked Ilwrath with a spread-weapon (Utwig Jugger, ZPF Stinger, Androsynth Blazer), those Ilwrath are pretty good at dodging anything that isn't a concentrated strafe. I'm just impressed it only took 2 ZFP's considering the rather short range of their main weapon and the few crew they have.  Cheesy

The range beats the Ilwrath flamethrower by a substantial margin, and the crew is irrelevant if you never take damage Wink

The trick is to know the range of the Ilwrath, and get outside it.

Also, only fire when you are facing the exact center of the screen. Since you only have 12 directions to face, that means there are only 12 lines you can be on to fire and hit (6 lines if you let them cross the center). If you know where those are, you can bullseye them at any range.

The reason I lost the first Stinger was accidentally hitting the planet after getting a hair too close to the 'wrath. The second one never got a scratch. Cool Yea, the other fun spread-fight is Yehat vs. Ilwrath. My God, what's the point of the Ilwrath fighting? They should just sacrifice themselves to D&K and avoid the pain of twin-cannons. Tongue

Heh. Yeah, I enjoy fighting Ilwrath with both Yehat and Utwig. One of the things I like to do with those two is fly straight towards the Ilwrath, throw up the shields at the last second, and then when I bounce back from the collision, I'm already facing them, so I know the direction I'm firing is correct. Fun stuff.
