Are there any tips so you can win against a Yehat as a Mmrnmhrm?

The Yehat would just run away (he's faster than X-form) and fire away (he's got better range than X-form). Like I described in my strategy guide for Mmrnmhrm, what I've been doing with Yehat is setting up so I'm near him, fire away, and then try to run far enough away so Yehat doesn't blast me...
The thing is I'm asking this because it seems to me like there should be a way to win against a Yehat as a Mmrnmhrm. Maybe not.

After some experimenting, this is what I found:
Put your head between your legs and kiss your butt goodbye.
At least this is what I found against the computer, the Yehat is just too good with the shields. The best I came up with was use the Mmrnmhrm in X-form mode either stopped or with very little movement, then just fire away when it gets close. I eventually downed 1 Yehat for every 3-4 Mmrnmhrm ships which is still very poor.

Pretty much. Even against a human opponent, if you're at a range that you can hit with Y-Form missiles, there's no reason for the Yehat pilot to not spend all his batteries on shields.
(And a static Mmrnmhrm in X form should get pummeled by a Yehat that carefully stays outside the X form range.)
So it's a stalemate until the Mmrnmhrm pilot gets impatient, or the planet decides things.
The tactical situation here is "the enemy has longer range and is faster than I am." In this situation, you're basically hosed. (Compare Shofixti vs. VUX when the VUX doesn't get to start right next to the Shofixti. The Vux is pretty much meat unless the Shofixti pilot makes mistakes.)
When in such a situation, I tend to gravity whip and then wait to get close to the enemy, then unleash a barrage. With a Mmrnmhrm, you don't even need the whip; just transform and thrust. You're in trouble with those shields, though.

If ur playing against a computor oponent, the yehat will try to fly right at you. i guess the speed thing would really affect my stratagy though.
Initially it will, but it'll try to avoid you if you come right at it too - basically what it does to me is after I blast it (and it shields it), it runs away and then turns around while it's still in range and shoots away.

i just tried it. the big prob with my stratagy is that the yehat has a better range. u might have better luch with a VUX. why do u need this melee match up anyways?

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

Well, he's under attack by Yehat, and he is Mmrnmhrm! Isn't it obvious?

Yeah I'm playing as all Mmrnmhrm right now against the world. How to survive against a Yehat without going through 2 or 3 ships is what I'm trying to figure out. It's called challenging yourself. Something I've found out about making a whole array of ships available is after a while you figure out your "ice cold" ships against each of your opponents and always go to them and not expand your skills by trying something else. The game gets boring too after a while when you have your expert ships to go to.
So I pick a type of ship that isn't all powerful like the Chmmr, Ur-Quans, or Chenjesu (I've done VUX, Mycon, and now doing Mmrnmhrm) and play with nothing but that ship. It makes it so you have to get good with the ship, and it forces you into match-ups you might not choose to get into otherwise - of course the random thing is always there if you have a mixture of ships, but the temptation is always too great to pick the ship you know you'll win with against whatever's out there.
Besides, I never knew I could beat a Kohr-Ah with a VUX until I forced myself into trying it and sticking with it until I figured it out.
