Without writing a script into the code of this forum, the answer would be a no. Mind you, I'm no moderator here, but running a similar board to this one (with a great deal of mods on it) gives me some insight into such things.
There are some logfiles in the ./Members directory (that shouldn't be accessible except via site owner), .log I think, that at least tell the last time a given person has logged in. Of course this only applies to members, but it'd be a start to collecting such statistics. It would also be theoretically possible to process every one of the .dats in ./Messages and count the exact number of people that have posted and the last time they posted, guests and all.
Of course, all of this happening depends on the willingness of meep-eep to either implement it (probably not happening) or empower someone to do so. I'd volunteer for this task if such willingness is present.

The technical things may end, perhaps when 1.0 comes out. We still have 0.7 updates to go, mind you.
One thing that won't die on here, I don't believe, is the discussion and/or arguing of logics, theories, strategems (as long as I'M around they won't, anyway), and of course, random bits of code slapped into pages.
I .E.: The "Whatever happened to the Androsynth?" thread. I resurrected it just because I wanted to get it to the forefront of people's minds (and had plenty of input on it myself), and it lasted about 2 months! Not too bad for an older post, IMHO.
Stuff like that makes people THINK. Makes 'em think, "What if...?" As long as humans will wonder about things, ANYTHING...even something like the things that transpire in a game...as long as you have that mental cognation, this forum won't die.

To fire up the old Argument Cannon again...
Jiffa, I didn't "steal" your post. I left it right where it was. The post I started had little or nothing to do with yours, in fact. Yours was, well, you starting off by saying what ships were "the best" and then what appeared to be heavy flaming to anyone that didn't agree. My post discarded all prejudice towards other people's ideas and feelings about the ships and just told them to tell us their favorite, why, it's strengths/weaknesses, and ways to use it effectively. Coincedentally, it DID turn into a stratagem list, but it's quite useful. At least, I've learned alot about ships from it.
Hope this isn't *vinegar*. Hehe, a new Orz word.

You can't play anything with 600 Mhz? Morrowind runs quite well on my 500 Mhz and Radeon 7500.

You can run some decent games with 600 mhz. Starcraft (+expansion) is the best RTS ever and is dirt cheap, so grab that if you have not already.
Also, ANYONE who likes rpgs should go to www.spidweb.com and download a few of their big, free demos for the avernum and geneforge games. They have subpar graphics, but low requirements and good gameplay.
