my original music, Mark Vera
« on: July 07, 2003, 03:34:17 am »

Hi all Smiley

I know you all know me from my UQM/Star Control remixes, but I don't want to be know just as a remixer, so here's something Original from me.

I just finished my latest (spacesynth, spacy 80's disco)
song which is Laserdance, Koto and Marco Rochowski influenced. Or so.. or then it's just my style, atleast melodies are. hehe Smiley Space music fits well here, so I guess you might like it.

So, here it is with my artist name,

Mark Vera - Lost in Space:

http://www.mikseri.net/www/play.php?type=dl&id=29487

(around 8,4 megabyte mp3)

Hope you enjoy. I like it a lot myself.

I recorded the speech samples with my microphone
(Sennheiser e835 if you're interested in that little detail). Oh yes, it's me alright Smiley Vocoder was used as well.

Hmm... not my style (as you might have noticed), but it does hit that bouncy electric funny bone. It would make a great Dance Dance Revolution track.

I'm not so sure where it would fit into UQM. On the other hand, you didn't say that it was intended to be used in UQM.

I didn't know you were a DDR fan too, D_999.

I played only once, badly, and watched for about an hour, but it was grand fun...
I'd like to play more, but I don't go to the arcades much... maybe this summer when I'm at Ocean City.

Everybody starts off badly at DDR, you should try to play it more.

Back on subject: The song really does sound like it hopped right out of the 80's. I like 80's music, so good job.  Wink

<off_topic>Real DDR players are just crazy.  My brain doesn't even go that fast, I couldn't even 'read' the arrows at like half the speed I've seen beat almost perfect.</off_topic>

Nice song.  Adding it my Mega-Playlist-o'-Doom.

I didn't want to create new thread for this, but in anycase if you're interested in hearing my new remix, not Star Control remix, it's available for download. It's remix of the Beverly Hills Cop theme (Axel Foley). If not else, you might get some idea of the quality you can except from the newer SC2 remixes by me. Download here (5,4MB ogg)

EDIT: changed the url a bit different, cause there are problems with the current domain..

Sadly, the link to Alex F was broken.  Too bad, that sounded cool.

Should work? Atleast it works here, I just tried it. Although there has been some problems with the host webservers.

I'm just reusing this thread again. There's new original from me, 80's synthdisco (spacesynth). Song called "Star Orion". The radio edit is available for download now. There's something else planned for the longer original version.

download from, http://www.mikseri.net/markvera/

Took quite long time to finish this one, though I made several remixes for the remixing project when "Star Orion" was on hold. In anycase, I'm happy it is ready now. Next project is more music for UQM.  Wink
