Maybe those "lights" could be speakers themselves. Forget the fact that they wouldn't work in "real" space, this is science fiction! It's more interesting with sound effects in space! The Sa-Matra would have nothing on the Vindicator in terms of planet-shattering power.

#3 - Law of Sonic Amplification, First Law of Anime Acoustics
In space, loud sounds, like explosions, are even louder because there is no air to get in the way.

I'd say this applies here as well.

Well, the 27th isn't over yet, is it? Besides, at the time you posted (about 0700 GMT), the 27th hadn't even yet started all over the world (e.g. US west coast). Let's be patient (and reload the site until the server dies Grin).
