I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

I'm guessing that a lot of people don't want it fixed, but let's face it: it gives the androsynth an unfair advantage against the Chenjesu, a ship that would be pretty effective against it without that bug. Are there any plans to fix it, or will you just keep it as is because people like using it in melee?

That should already have been fixed in 0.3.

The bug (and the fix) are in Bugzilla as Bug #283
I'm running 0.31 and it is fixed there.
Or, to answer the original question, yes, we do have a plan for fixing the bug and expect the issue to be addressed by the release of v1.0

Though I've never experienced the bug myself, the gist of it is that under certain circumstances, when a DOGI hits a Guardian while in comet form, the ship will revert back to normal form but retain the speed, turning, and damage-by-touching aspect of the comet.

A bug that existed clear back into the Star Control 2 PC territory...
And that specific circumstance is that a collision with the comet form by the DOGI must completely eliminate the energy of the comet and revert it back to regular form. When this happens, the bug happens.

That was for the sake of those that don't want to/can't follow links (like bigfoot, apparently).
