Star Control 2 doesn't work very well under WinXP either, nor does the original Gunship, Mission Impossible 2, Ultima VI, or Commander Keen.  My point?  This is the UQM technical issues board, not the general Star Control technicals issues board.   Maybe if you tried posting on the Pages of Now and Forever?   :-/

That's Microsoft's way of telling you not to play Star Control 3 Wink

The usual ideas:

  • Try running in MS-DOS mode.
  • Do not use sound card autodetection.
  • Check your sound card's compatibility. Try all of the sound card settings in SC3 that appear to be compatible with your card.
  • Try adjusting the sound card's port, IRQ and DMA settings.
I can't be more specific without knowing what sound card you're using.

I have no problem playing the game on Windows XP but I can't figure out how to get into the executable file to make it full screen; any suggestions?
