Probably true, but very strange. I mean, if they can help you building your flag-ship and building many escorts, why would they keep for themself the RU until you don't need it anymore?

3 month after making first contact with earth and my main ship already got tracking, hellborn, hi-efficeny fuel and all modified landers (thanks to hacked bio credit and trading with the Melnorme).
i can kick butt with that ship  no problem

but its my earthling cruisers (the one that shoot 1 missile).  I made a cheat freezing the crew and recharge rate but thats no fun, i want to edit the speed etc on all the other ships too.

so thats why i want a ship editor.

You made a cheat to freeze the crew number?

I WANT THAT... please Smiley

For Windows, the best ship editor has got to be Microsoft Visual C++.  The game even includes the necessary configuration files for use with this editor, although it requires version 6.0 or higher.  The learning curve is somewhat steep, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find that you're able to reconfigure almost every aspect of the game.

For Linux, MacOS X, and BSD platforms, I recommend vi or Emacs with a cscope front-end.  the learning curve is similarly high here (some would argue that it's worse) but the low overhead more than makes up for it.

Does someone have a first born child I can sell to acquire Micro$oft C++?

With regards to spelling Microsoft with a "$", please refer to the following comic:

If  you really want to cheat and ruin half the game there is a save game editor at "the pages of now and forever" just search for it in yahoo

I dont think you can edit the earthling cruiser with it though.

personaly i enjoyed the RU collecting.
