why TFB doesn't make a new star control?

if tfb is now a self producting company and not just making games for other companies, why dont they make a new star control game by their own instead of making other projects? lets say what if they can get on themselves as next project a new star control?
what prevents them?

Well first of all, they can't just make any game they want (well they COULD but, I think 3rd party companys are usally hired to make a certain game) just because you make a game, doesn't mean it will get published.  Secondly, they don't own the rights to the name 'Star Control', Accloade (now Atari?) does.  Thirdly, the Star Control name isn't very big, so you can't just make a #4, because noone would buy it because they never played 1-3.

And besides that, someone already plans "sc4". It won't be called "sc4" because people will think "W00t? Sc4? I have never heard about sc1-3 so it must be a sucky game. I won't buy it". For further elabaration go to http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/starcon/ and read.

You should have read that "further elaboaration" yourself before posting the link, methinks. That game was canned many years ago, thank god.
